AEROLITO is just 4 squares to the mainroad of Tulum , where you can find many restaurants and bars , also the busstation and other public transportation .
Sometimes I still can hear the waves of the ocean in a silent night in the low season . Tulum is a new city and it's growing steadily. More people are coming to this paradise, and so the noise level is growing as well . Mexico is a lively and noisy country , life happens often on the streets . Dogs are here to guard houses , the cocks cry early in the morning and party starts (email hidden) ending a 4 am . AEROLITO is a quiet oasis in the center , four blocks away from the main strip . It depends from where the wind blows , and where the moon is , noise comes from outside into this paradise .
spent 4 nights in tulum and had a lovely time at aerolito! the place is centrally located and walkable to everything you want in town. really enjoyed having a private kitchen (though we didn't cook), wifi, and bikes.
ariane is super friendly and prepared awesome breakfast every morning. breakfast time is a great time to meet the other travellers as well!
Ariane was extremely helpful and accommodating during our stay. Aerolito is a very beautiful place and the foliage is amazing to look at. The breakfast was also very delicious. We did feel that the room was slightly more rustic than the photos, and it did get very hot inside the room even with the fan. Aerolito was right in town which was great, a lot of restaurants close by. The beach was farther away, not really in walking distance, but Ariane did have bikes available. We did end up renting a car so this wasn't a problem.
We had a great stay at Aerolito. We would definitely say here again if we went back to Tulum.
The room was great, Ariane and Consuela were both great hosts. Ariane was very attentive, right from before I even booked. She answered all my questions quickly and well. Once we got there, she was happy to offer advice and to just chat. She was also very supportive, even offering me a t-shirt to borrow after I got burnt the first day and only had tank-tops to wear. She gave me some after-sun lotion, too. Consuela is an amazing cook and we had great breakfasts everyday.
My only complaint is that the Wi-Fi didn't work in our room, so we had to go out and get eaten alive by mosquitoes whenever we (website hidden)d home to talk to our children or needed to use the Internet at all.
All in all, though, this was a great place to stay with great hosts. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, comfy, friendly, and centrally located (website hidden) I read some comments complaining about the noise, to that I say, I have been to Mexico a few times and to a few different places and that's just how Mexico sounds. If you don't want to her dogs barking, roosters crowing, and loud-speaker ads chiming at all hours - don't go to Mexico. Me? I love it!
Great host. Great place. She was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Good spot to stay off the main road in Tulum. Thanks Ariane!
The compound is a beautiful garden oasis, nicely landscaped. Ariane was very communicative and organized, and allowed us to check in early, which was greatly appreciated. We enjoyed eating at the local places she recommended. We were also glad to have a mosquito net over the bed.
The only downside was we found it challenging to get stable hot water from the shower. The hot water comes from an on-demand electric heater, which seemed to cycle between too hot and too cold. I may have been using it wrong... But you may want to check with Ariane to get her input if nice hot showers are really key to your stay. The weather was so warm that it wasn't a big deal, and we would definitely stay here again.
Aerolito is in a great location - close to restaurants, shops, dive shops and other amenities. We enjoyed our stay in Tulum and got to relax in Ariane's beautiful garden. Thanks for your hospitality, Ariane.
Our stay at Aeroito was wonderful. Ariane was a very kind and gracious host- and the breakfast was delicious! The property is lush and beautiful, as others have said- it truly is a little oasis. The location is perfect. You can bike to the beaches or just walk through the pueblo. We would definitely not hesitate to come back here :)
Aerolito is an amazing oasis nestled in the hustle and bustle of downtown Tulum. It is located just a few streets from the center of town...full of life, color and commerce. Staying here allows you the comfort of an urban oasis with close proximity to an authentic Mexican experience. As mentioned, it can get a bit loud but earplugs are provided and by the end of our stay, the sounds of life all around us became a sweet song that I find I miss now that I am back home.
When you walk through the gated entrance, a sea of flora and fauna greets you. Ariane has made an amazingly beautiful home for herself and her many guests. Each morning, a wonderful homemade breakfast awaits you. Each morning a warm smile and beautiful day awaits you. Ariane is full of knowledge and can guide you to experience all that Mexico has to offer.
The property is about a 20 minute bike ride from the beach. Ariane rents beach cruisers for ease or you can opt to rent a car independently. Personally, we opted and would again, opt for bikes as the weather is divine, the scenery, spectacular and the things you will discover off the beaten path, to and from, is worth every bit of sweat and possible exhaustion. (Ruins/Cenotes/Lagoon/Beach all roughly 20 minutes away by bike)
We stayed in the Rincon Precioso...a 2 bed Mayan stone house with private bath, kitchen and patio. It was perfectly appointed/clean/cute and so much more than I imagined from the pictures. If traveling with a small family or a few friends, this would be a perfect option.
Ariane is a special soul...what you get for the price far exceeds expectations. She is an incredibly intuitive masseuse as well. If you are fortunate to have the time and means, schedule one with her and enjoy.
Tulum and the surrounding areas have SO much to offer, however, we found ourselves not wanting to leave the property some days. That is how nice and comforting it is. At the end of our 8 day stay at Aerolito, it was difficult to say goodbye. Instead, we said "see you soon" as we long to return to the spectacular home of our newfound and beyond special friend.
Ariane was gracious, friendly, helpful, welcoming. Her place is so cool it is hard to describe in a few words. I'm only sorry I stayed for two nights instead of four ! I had the best two nights of sleep of any bnb.The breakfast was very good -- lovely diced papaya. Tulum makes a great visit. Can't wait to go back and spend a week at Aerolito !!
