Ariane is kind and a wonderful host. Aerolito is beautiful and Ariane's warmth and generosity radiate. The hotel is located close to main avenue with restaurants, colectivos and shops. It was easy to get around w/o a car and with kids.
This was the best experience ever! We loved Aerolito and Ariane was such a marvelous host to us. She really pays attention to who you are as people before she offers her recommendations for activities or restaurants. The breakfast was always fresh and delicious, and she often picks fruits and veggies fresh from her garden for it. This is definitely a great place for people who want to visit Mexico, and not some air-conditioned Disney-style resort built in Mexico. Clean space, fresh towels, great kitchen. A++
Staying at Ariane's AirBnb made our trip to Tulum a very memorable experience. The location is perfect for walking around city center and taking evening strolls to and from dinner/bar/cafe. We had a rental car and parking was a breeze. Ariane makes a delicious breakfast with the best salsa ever (!) and also local fruits grown on the property! She provided us with a big jug of water so we didn't have to buy any during our stay, which was a nice touch. We made friends with several hermit crabs and lizards during our stay, we loved the lizards b/c they would eat the mosquitos for us! There are hammocks outside for you to relax on the grounds, but the wet season just started when we were in Tulum so we had to hide inside to avoid mosquito bites! Wifi doesn't reach this unit, you'll have to be outside by the hammocks to get connection, which for us was impossible due to the mosquitos. Ariane did provide us with coils to burn throughout the night, with that and the net around the bed we were pretty protected. The bathroom is very clean, the kitchen is well equipped (but we never used it), and our room was warm and cozy. One last thing about Ariane is her amazing recommendations!!! She knew which cenotes to visit, where to eat fresh seafood with a beautiful view, cheap and delicious local joints, and day trip cities. We felt like we were part of the family during our 4 nights stay at her place. Thank you!!!
My friends and I had a wonderful stay with Ariane in Tulum.
We found the property very easy to find as the directions were excellent. We were lucky to visit during a quiet time of year and heard no street noise. The property is very close to the main street and it is easy to access local restaurants and shops. We rented bikes and rode the beach every day also.
Ariane welcomed us with a map, directions and great recommendations for trying tacos. She prepared a delicious breakfast of coffee, fruit, homemade muesli, cheese and bread every day and we really enjoyed our mornings together talking about where to visit and her life in Tulum.
The garden felt like a sanctuary from the busy streets and we made full use of the hammocks! We had fresh towels every day and Ariane lent us snorkels to use in the cenotes.
We felt welcomed, safe and happy and would easily recommend Ariane's place to friends. Thank you!
We had a great stay at Aerolito! The house is nicely designed and spacious. There is a private bathroom right outside of the house and also two open kitchens for guest use. All is really well made and maintained. Center of the property is a jungly garden with hammocks and (at night) lit up pathways. In the morning we'd awaken to singing of jungle birds and Ariane who'd spoil us with amazing homemade breakfasts (tortilla strips w eggs and cactus, granola, fresh fruits, freshly baked bread and great coffee,...). The location is few minutes of walk to town and a short cab drive down to the Tulum Ruins. Ariane recommended some great places to visit in Tulum and beyond. Thank you Ariane! :) We really enjoyed our stay, so definitely extending my recommendations.
I can't recommend Ariane's beautiful Tulum residence highly enough. Perhaps the best part of this whole experience is Ariane herself, who lives on the property and is readily available to give great advice on lesser-known places to swim, eat, and play. She also makes an amazing breakfast (don't skip the eggs) and is a trained masseuse with a facility onsite (don't go to a tourist-y spa and spend way too much money). The room itself was quite comfortable, if a bit hot. Coming from cold Chicago, this was fine with me. Leave the doors open before bed to let the night air in and it helps a lot. As with anywhere in Mexico, bring lots of bugspray and sunscreen and aloe vera. Don't worry about beach towels or snorkel gear - Ariane will provide both. Overall, we had a blast and would definitely go back. The only reason not to leave this glowing review would be to keep this gem a secret...
Ariane is a wonderful host and Aerlito is located in a quiet of the town - easy walk to many great local restaurants. With only two days to explore she gave us many great recommendations and helped us make the most of our short time. Wonderful host and wonderful accommodations.
