  • Ariane's place was a dream come true. My mother and I stayed 5 days, and never wanted to leave. We're already hoping to return next year. Our beds were comfortable, our patio serene. We spent every night sitting out in the hamac watching the stars and listening to the wonderful noises of this little neighborhood in Tulum. Every morning we had a fabulous breakfast with conversation with the other visitors. Ariane had priceless knowledge to share and a truly insightful perspective on this corner of the world. We felt privileged to have found this gem, and will doubtless return.

  • Ariane is a wonderful host. She very helpfully lent my boyfriend and I snorkel gear, and rented us bikes for $5 USD per day. She was great at telling us about where to eat and what to see and do. She also can organize day trips for you. The accommodation is in a gorgeous tropical garden, sprinkled with hammocks, and she has a few rooms on the one site. It is basic but everything you need, plus a delicious cooked breakfast each morning! If anything goes wrong, Ariane will fix for you straight away (well, as fast as Mexican-time allows!). She also provides drinking water. There was a little bit of noise one night from a festival down the road, but it didn't bother us much. The location is very convenient - staying in town is much cheaper, less touristy and you get to see the real Tulum. It's about 25 min ride to the beach (or a $10-15 cab). Food and bars are only 5 min walk. We also rode to Gran Cenote from here, and to the ruins. Anywhere further and you can get a collectivo for very cheap on the main street. Honestly, we loved it and would stay again! Thanks Ariane!

  • My friend and I had a wonderful time staying with Ariane at Aerolito Tulum. She is very quick to respond to emails and gave us extremely easy to follow driving directions to arrive to her home. We had an extremely filling breakfast of eggs/avocados, yogurt and fruit every morning. We had a private kitchen and private bathroom that was cleaned every day and fresh bath towels were provided. During our stay, the hot water in the shower was a bit fussy, but it was pretty hot so a cold shower was not terrible. Aerolito Tulum is very close to town, but we had a car so driving to the beach was easy. However, biking to the beach would probably take at least 20 - 30 minutes, depending on the beach you are looking for. We'll definitely come back in the future!

  • Jeff and I stayed at Aerolito for 4 nights. We were expecting some noise because of other reviews we read and because Ariana left earplugs in the room. It was anything but noisy. It was so quiet, comfortable and restful. We loved our room, we loved the grounds and we loved Ariana. She was so genuine and welcoming, we felt at home there the moment she greeted us. Every morning there was a delicious breakfast waiting for us with fresh fruits--even some from Ariana's garden--coffee, tea, breads even eggs. She was always happy to give us advice about places to visit, things to do, the best beaches and cenotes, where to find things, restaurants, etc. There were also bikes and a kitchen available for our use.

In general Ariana's a very positive and interesting person who we enjoyed conversing with. We can't imagine a better host or place to stay, would definitely stay there again and highly recommend Ariana and Aerolito. Thank you very much Ariana for making our stay in Tulum so great. If you ever come to San Francisco we hope you will give us a shout.

  • spent 4 nights in tulum and had a lovely time at aerolito! the place is centrally located and walkable to everything you want in town. really enjoyed having a private kitchen (though we didn't cook), wifi, and bikes.

ariane is super friendly and prepared awesome breakfast every morning. breakfast time is a great time to meet the other travellers as well!

  • Ariane was extremely helpful and accommodating during our stay. Aerolito is a very beautiful place and the foliage is amazing to look at. The breakfast was also very delicious. We did feel that the room was slightly more rustic than the photos, and it did get very hot inside the room even with the fan. Aerolito was right in town which was great, a lot of restaurants close by. The beach was farther away, not really in walking distance, but Ariane did have bikes available. We did end up renting a car so this wasn't a problem.

  • We had a great stay at Aerolito. We would definitely say here again if we went back to Tulum.

The room was great, Ariane and Consuela were both great hosts. Ariane was very attentive, right from before I even booked. She answered all my questions quickly and well. Once we got there, she was happy to offer advice and to just chat. She was also very supportive, even offering me a t-shirt to borrow after I got burnt the first day and only had tank-tops to wear. She gave me some after-sun lotion, too. Consuela is an amazing cook and we had great breakfasts everyday.

My only complaint is that the Wi-Fi didn't work in our room, so we had to go out and get eaten alive by mosquitoes whenever we (website hidden)d home to talk to our children or needed to use the Internet at all.

All in all, though, this was a great place to stay with great hosts. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, comfy, friendly, and centrally located (website hidden) I read some comments complaining about the noise, to that I say, I have been to Mexico a few times and to a few different places and that's just how Mexico sounds. If you don't want to her dogs barking, roosters crowing, and loud-speaker ads chiming at all hours - don't go to Mexico. Me? I love it!

  • The compound is a beautiful garden oasis, nicely landscaped. Ariane was very communicative and organized, and allowed us to check in early, which was greatly appreciated. We enjoyed eating at the local places she recommended. We were also glad to (email hidden) over the bed.

The only downside was we found it challenging to get stable hot water from the shower. The hot water comes from an on-demand electric heater, which seemed to cycle between too hot and too cold. I may have been using it wrong... But you may want to check with Ariane to get her input if nice hot showers are really key to your stay. The weather was so warm that it wasn't a big deal, and we would definitely stay here again.

About
I was born in Germany and I live in Mexico since 1985. My 2 children are born in Tulum. I work as a massagetherapist, I bake bread and I do jewelery and I really enjoy time for doing yoga or swimming. Tulum and the mexican Carribean is full of natural beauty and I call myself lucky to have discovered it so many years ago. I am still learning how Airbnb works. I like renting my space, so I can get in touch with people from all over the world. Looking forward to meet you Ariane
