A bright furnished independent apartment overlooking the tropical vegetation of La Ropa Beach neighborhood. It features independent dining/kitchenette space with plenty of ventilation, an air-conditioned bedroom with king sized bed, and a private bath with tub. Weekly bed linen and towel change is included. Nanche apartment is located on an upper level of the multi-level El Tamarindo at Casa Calamondin family complex, Colonia La Ropa. Discounts on stays of 28 nights or more.

The space
Nanche’s living space is tastefully furnished with table and chairs, ceiling fans, and kitchenette (fridge, sink, 2-burner cook-top, microwave). Basic dishware and cooking utensils are provided. There is a small couch/daybed in the living area.

The air-conditioned bedroom holds a king sized bed, Mexican wooden accent furniture, and a roomy closet. The bedroom has overhead fan and air conditioning.

The bathroom is equipped with a shower/tub combo.

Please note that only the bedroom is air-conditioned; the living space is cooled by overhead fan.

The apartment has plenty of natural light and views over the palms and tropical vegetation of the La Ropa neighborhood. The apartment is two levels higher than the main house, so there are exterior stairs to negotiate as you move through the garden from street level to apartment level. Just outside the apartment is a palapa-thatched rooftop terrace with hammocks, table and chairs, free wifi, and splendid views of sunrise and sunset skies.

The Nanche apartment is ideal for two people but can accommodate a third person on the single daybed.

Guest access
Four separate buildings house independent apartments and rooms in the El Tamarindo at Casa Calamondin family complex that winds up a slope from street level. A pathway and a series of exterior stairways wind up through the garden areas to access each of the modules. Cozy comfort and low-key relaxation characterize the home.

There are two entrances onto different sections of the property, and guests are able to access the rental units via exterior walkways and stairs without having to go through the main residence. Every room and apartment has independent access from the exterior.

For outdoor lounging, guests have shared access to a rooftop palapa-thatched terrace that overlooks the tropical greenery of La Ropa and affords lovely sunrise and sunset views.

Other things to note
There is free WiFi available on both the upper rooftop terrace and the lower terrace of the main house.

Once-per-week linen and towel change is e included. Your unit will be delivered thoroughly cleaned, and we include an initial supply of drinking water, soap, and toilet tissue for your arrival. Extra drinking water is available for purchase.

We do not have television or public land-line phone service at El Tamarindo.

We do not have public laundry facilities on the property. There are reliable local laundry services available that provide will pick-up and deliver. Ask us.

Nanche is an easy two block walk from La Ropa Beach and a pleasant 30-40 minute walk (or easy taxi or microbus ride) into town.

La Ropa Beach is the best and most beautiful beach on Zihuatanejo Bay, which is in itself one of the astounding jewels of the Mexican Pacific coastline. It is a short, approximately two-block walk to the beach with only a gentle slope rising from the water level to the elevation of the house—no heavy hills to climb when coming and going. Just steps from the door are several restaurants that open during the winter season, with a variety of offerings from home-style Italian to savory fish tacos and chic boutique sandwiches, and along the beach are countless seafood restaurants and plenty of opportunities to imbibe a cold beer or an icy margarita.

Zihuatanejo has been my home since the mid-1990s, although my family and I first fell in love with it in 1969 when it was but a tiny and dusty fishing village. El Tamarindo is a multi-unit family complex that I administer with the valuable help of Felisa, who is hands-on with guest care on site and greatly appreciated by us all. My sisters and other family members are sometimes in residence. I do not live at El Tamarindo but drop by often.
