CHECK IN: Pls text me (phone number hidden)) the day of your arrival and let me know when you expect to arrive. Pls park in the back of the house (703 Howard St.) if space available or on the street (free of charge) and enter through our back door with the pineapple welcome sign.
The ballroom is directly above two guest rooms, so please try to be quiet at night. Please make yourself at home. Come and go as you would like. We are very flexible except for our very strict "No Smoking" policy. We aren't "420 Friendly" either (nothing illegal whatsoever on the premises, please). You are welcome to smoke outside on the deck by the kitchen. Please respect our house, and please carry your bags down the stairs instead of dragging them. Please call or text me if you have any questions or needs. We hope your stay is delightful! Thank you!
A gorgeous house on breathtaking Forsyth Park! We loved the ballroom and it met our needs perfectly. It's funny to say that Christie was the perfect host even though we never met her personally - she responded to our messages promptly and someone was at the house on our arrival to show us to our room. Christie thought of everything to make the ballroom a very comfortable and beautiful home for our few days in Savannah…and it was so nice and quiet. It was great to be able to park our car behind the house and wander the city with no concerns. The days of our visit were very hot and humid, but the A/C kept up beautifully. If you're not bothered by a couple flights of stairs, it's a treat to stay in the ballroom and think on its history. Christie mentions in her listing that they have cats - I am very allergic to cats, but hoped the hardwood floors would help with that issue - I was not bothered at all! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We loved our stay. The park across the street is a wonderful asset especially if you are traveling with children. The house is beautiful and the beds were comfortable. The kids wished we had met our hosts, but the cats were extra friendly and added a touch of home.
The room was exactly as described, huge, beautiful and very luxurious. The beds were comfortable, the linens were soft and the sofa, TV and coffee machine were a nice touch. The lighting in there was great also.
I loved the location, overlooking the park with the cafe really nearby for breakfast. And there were some snacks and toiletries in the room which were useful.
There was a folder with some information in the room which was helpful but I was disappointed with the lack of interaction from the hosts. No one was there when I arrived and when I came back later there was still no one there to show me around. I ran into one host accidentally, which was lucky as I had no way to book a taxi, but when the taxi didn't show up the next morning I had no idea where anyone was. I'm not sure what would've happened had there been an emergency or something missing from the room.
All in all, really nice room but expected more from the service side of it.
Our experience was delightful. The location couldn't be better for touring historic Savannah. Our host received us personally and was as friendly as could be. The room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Savannah. The only word of warning -- These accommodations are on the third floor of a historic home, so it's a climb up steep, narrow stairs. Not a problem at all if you are traveling light and are in relatively good shape, but could be a challenge with lots of luggage.
The house was great. It was in a great location and furnished with everything that was needed. My wife and I had all the privacy we could ask for and Savannah is a great city. Thanks Christie for a wonderful place to stay.
The host was accommodating and was easy to contact. The neighborhood was absolutely lovely.
This was such a great surprise in Savannah! The Collat Ballroom is exactly as advertised - extremely spacious, clean, and beautiful. The personal touches really made us feel at home, too. We appreciated the welcome tour by Natalia, the water/tea/snacks, the binder with all instructions/information we would need, the collection of movies, the toiletries, maps, etc.
We loved the location right next to the park. Christie and Natalia were very easy to contact and we couldn't have asked for more. Thank you so much!

Hi! Traveling, music, and the ocean are three things that are near and dear to my heart. It is a blessing to live in such a beautiful city that is great to come home to, and I love sharing our little corner of Savannah with our guests. As a host, I use "the Golden Rule" and try to create an environment that I would want to be in as a guest. Cleanliness and comfort (i.e. nice towels and sheets) are always a priority. We are very flexible and do what we can to make each guest's stay as nice as possible and to make everyone feel at home.
