Spacious house right on Fort Pond with relaxed bohemian vibe. Enjoy the open kitchen, reclaimed wood beams, and hand crafted furniture. Access directly to the water from the back yard. There are two other cottages that are two bedrooms each on property as well.

We do live on the property full time and enjoy making our space a safe and clean environment.

The space
This house is a well renovated, stylishly furnished 3 bedroom 2 bath former fishing cabin that was erected in the 1930s by a Quebecois fisherman. The original structure was salvaged after the Long Island Express hurricane of 1938 from the bay.

There are 2 Queen beds and 2 King beds in the home.

The rooms in the house feature open ceilings with visible rafters, the most dramatic being in the living area with its salvaged beams and column. There are lots of windows to allow in light and cool the house in the summer.

* Our vibe is relaxed and respectful of our neighbors, we have uncovered one of the most amazing places to meet new people, have fun, and unplug.

* Spacious living with plenty of seating, a large dinning table and bar counter.

* A well stocked kitchen with plenty of counter space, and a large farm sink. Including almost everything you may need to make great meal.

*Central A/C and heat

*Updated Grohe shower and bath fixtures

*Washer and Dryer

*Private bedrooms with queen/king beds with high density, high end mattresses. Linens, pillows and towels are provided and there are extras in the hallway closet.

*A private deck with communal grill, table and chairs.

*Direct stair access to Fort Pond.

*Kayak, paddle boards, bicycles, and life vests (Memorial Day-Labor Day)

*A fire pit with firewood

*Bedroom 3 has a large closet and sliding doors to a narrow deck, one of the best sunning spots on the compound.

*The bathroom also has a upgraded rain shower with handheld over a deep cast iron tub. Both bathrooms in the house have tiled and raw cement walls

*Wifi internet through out the property.

*Off street parking.

Other things to note
Most important thing to consider is that there are some other cottages on the property, so being aware to not disturb others is important. The house is private and you will feel comfortable in that regard, its just not the place for huge/loud parties. This home is also part of a beautiful community called Shepards Neck. We have families and children as neighbors and ask you respect them by driving slow and responsible on surrounding roads and not being loud or disorderly. Welcome to Fort Pond House. We love to travel, collect treasure, eat street food and meet people who make things. Our love for DIY and repurposing old things is clearly visible through out our place. After spending many summers in Montauk we came to love it here and fell in love with the Shepherd's Neck area and this compound, and in spite of the fact that it was neglected for many years and needed a lot of love, we made it our first home. We have filled it with things we love, bought and found on our adventures near and far. We've transformed the yard into a garden that we share with a lot of birds and bees! It's thoughtfully furnished and well appointed. We hope you will find respite here and enjoy the retreat as we do. We live on the property full time and are very proud Montauk residents. We maintain a safe and clean property to enjoy.
