Quiet, peaceful, home 5 mi from State Capital, close to Ft Lewis/McChord freeway access. Full double bed and your own bathroom. Japanese maples in front and back yards. Non smoking home. Coffee and espresso bar with morning fruit tray and a smile. Relax and enjoy my home.
I'm a Nonna (Grandmother in Italian) and have a nice, quiet, relaxing home in Lacey, Washington just 5 mi from the State Capital in Olympia, or downtown Olympia, and conveniently located if you need to reach Joint Base Ft. Lewis/McChord (JBLM). (Home is just 2 miles off Interstate 5 freeway N or S. Use Martin Way exit 109.) House has WiFi.
I love japanese maples and backyard birding, so the home, front and back, has dozens of maples and lots of birding activity. The maples are most colorful in spring and fall. You can relax on back deck with coffee or wine/cheese, in the side yard, or out front under a Moonfire maple. You can walk right out the front door and take a nice morning or evening walk or bike down the nearby Chehalis Western Trail which is asphalted and very safe. There is also a large meadow with small stream, purple martins and frisbee golf just down a couple streets within walking distance.
Boat Marina with scenic walk and artwork, Local Farmers Market (Thurs-Sun), and downtown Olympia are 10 min by car. Cutter’s Point Coffee House with its cozy fireplace atmosphere is walking distance from home. Our beautiful volcanoes Mt Rainier and Mount Saint Helen’s are both day trips from here. On a clear day Mt. Rainier can be seen from city streets in Lacey or Olympia.
Standard comfortable full double bed (54 in x 75 in) in private hosted home. Non-smoking home indoors or out. Closet for suitcase, hanging clothes. Your own bathroom with shower, tub, and big, clean, fluffy towels and all amenities (toiletries) provided, including hairdryer. Morning coffee and espresso, or a variety of teas, and a seasonal fruit tray with a bagel provided. In winter I set up a ‘hot chocolate bar’ for fun. You may bring food and cook in my home; but if you do your own cooking, you do your own clean-up and get everything into the dishwasher. Grocery just 1 mile away. Home is WiFi connected and you are welcome to relax and use living area spaces, tv, family room, front room, and kitchen, all outside seating areas. IF you are traveling with a 3rd person 6 yrs and up (my home is not childproof for younger ones) and need a twin bed for a third person, there is a 2nd bedroom you can book separately by contacting me or indicating 3 guests in your reservation. You and 3rd guest would share the same private bathroom.
Seattle airport is 1 hr away and shuttle service to Lacey is available through the Capital Aeroporter. The Amtrak train station is 5 miles or 12 min from my home with overnight parking available. You can ‘hop the train’ for a day to Portland, Vancouver, Seattle or many other places.
I can be your friendly, conversational host or just leave you alone, whichever works best for you. This home is 'people friendly' which means non-biased toward race, age, gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.

Very safe and quiet, no traffic or city noise. No barking dogs.
Very convenient public transportation
I love my Airbnb guests, they've all been nice, courteous, respectful, kind. If you are new to Airbnb, please note that the reservation for a room does not include bringing anyone in who was not included in the original reservation information supplied to your host (i.e. no overnight guests you bring home to stay with you in your room.) I'm an early riser and will have your coffee on, and I go to bed at 10 pm. Quiet rules after 10 pm. Thanks for understanding.
Although I arrived terribly late that night (delayed border crossing, car fire on freeway shutting down lanes, plans with cousin that needed to be kept), Cameron waited up and graciously and efficiently welcomed me, showed me all I needed, and let me get to bed. The room was quiet, comfortable, and all I could hope for after a long day of driving and hiking. I woke up to chirping birds and lovely wind chimes and felt right at home. Cameron and her grandson Jackson waited for me to stir and shared a wonderful breakfast while we got to know one another a bit. I wish I'd had longer to enjoy my hostess and her beautiful yard, but I had to leave on schedule, so no such luck. Cameron also had available all I could need for showering and getting ready, so it was nice to take a break from unpacking and packing up toiletries for one night. And I was quite proud of myself for not kidnapping her dog, who is quite the sweetheart. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
My host welcomed me from our very first contact. She wrote me a friendly welcoming E-Mail. When I arrived, she gave me the information I would need to settle into my room. She made the whole house available to me, including the patio and the lovely yards and gardens. The room was wonderfully comfortable and the food delicious. I especially appreciated her concern for my safety and her kindness in driving me places to see that I got there safely. She invited me to go along on a rainy day excursion along with her grandson. I would like to stay at Japanese Maple again.
Excellent host! Very enjoyable for my first adventure with AirBnB. Would do it again.
First off, Cameron was quick to respond to my questions beforehand, and she gave me clear directions to her place. Once I got there, Cameron and Jackson were the most gracious hosts - I really felt at home! Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and I had so much fun discussing birds, nature, science, math and so much more! Cameron is a wealth of knowledge, and she was kind enough to take some of her time to chat with me about my choices to move to Seattle. At the same time, I got all the privacy I needed in my room!
Not only did I have a pleasant stay, I think I left feeling much smarter than I arrived!
Cameron and grandson/co-host Jackson are exemplary hosts and cool people! Cameron went out of her way to make me comfortable, offering breakfast each day and she even invited me to join her for dinner one evening. The bed and bath were super clean and well appointed. Snacks and stuff in the fridge were available. There was great communication and she had good recommendations for places to eat when I was out. Really nice folks!
Cameron is the perfect host. She immediately made me feel right at home. It was relaxing to chat with her while coming and going each day, and I'm only sorry I didn't have more time to enjoy the yummy fruit and coffee she put out each morning. The bed is comfortable, the bedroom cozy, the neighborhood really peaceful, and the house ideally situated for getting around Lacey and travelling quickly to Olympia. It was a real pleasure to stay with Cameron .

Retired from a 25-yr career at a major University in California. Quiet, clean, organized, an avid reader, always wake up happy. Love a simple life. Love good people and good conversation, learning new things. Past hobbies calligraphy, stained glass, genealogy, and now japanese maples. The handsome little guy in the photo is my grandson. To him I am 'Nonna' which means grandmother in Italian. Relax and enjoy my home.
