We really enjoyed our stay at Park Slope, Brooklyn. The area offers a nice mix of typical brownstone buildings (like the one we stayed in), bagel bars, international restaurants, organic supermarkets etc. The appartment is just a short walk to Prospect Park and a few metro stops from Manhattan. Also the beaches of Coney Island and Rockaway are just some 30-40 minutes away (we preferred Brighton Beach, next to Ciney Island, nice atmosphere and good Russian food right at the boardwalk). On our first day, we walked all the way to Downtown Manhattan, passing the Gowanus Canal, Brooklyn Heights (great view to Manhattan) and the Brooklyn Bridge.
We (a Swiss family with 2 boys of 11 and 13) stayed during 2 weeks in the flat and could have easily stayed longer. It's not super spacy, but with the garden (which actually is nicer in reality than on the pictures), we never got claustrophobia. Also, it's a good flat during summer, as it stays relatively cool. The flat is very practical and has everything you need. It's not super modern and might need a little facelift (according to Miriam, they plan a renovation soon). But if you can live without the sterility of a hospital, it's more than ok. Miriam and Nathan are very nice and helpful and we would have wished to spend more time with them.
Ah yes, if you're a man, you'll need a hipster beard before you go to Park Slope, unless you don't mind appearing as a complete outside.
Everything about this apartment was great! The location was near public transit, close to a few nice food markets, around the corner from several tasty cafes and restaurants, and so close to the park!! The apartment itself had everything we needed and more - well equipped kitchen, soft bed, air conditioning, and a cute backyard to enjoy a glass of wine in. We traveled with our one year old - and the apartment was perfect for our family. We even lucked out that they had a stroller - which we had forgotten at home!!
This is a ver nice, cozy, spacious and functional apartment, and wen beyond expectations. The place can easily accomodate 4 people, without compromising any of its commodities.
It provides a lot of privacy, while being totally reachable at the same time (direct street access). Also, the garden at the back is a big plus!
Miriam was very helpful and flexible with check in/out times and so, and always willing to help.
I'd totally recommend it for anyone interested in spending some time in Park Slope.
It was a very pleasant experience - it was a real treat to have the garden to listen to the birds and have some fresh air in the morning.
The apartment was clean, comfortable and quiet. It is wonderfully situated - we enjoyed exploring the neighbourhood and its many cafes and restaurants.
Nathan and Miriam were very responsive and helpful - we really appreciated that.
We would absolutely return!
Miriam has a lovely garden apartment in the heart of Park Slope, Brooklyn. It is comfortable and has all the necessary facilities including access to the garden. My elderly parents were very happy there and appreciated the setting up of the air-conditioning when the weather became unseasonably warm.
