Interaction with Guests
I leave the house at 630 AM to work for severely disabled kids and don't return until about 5/6 PM depending what I need to do during the afternoon. As an employee of the public school system, I don't have access to my cellphone or internet during school hours. This means I won't be able to return messages until I'm off work. I'm usually around in the evening to socialize. I go to bed between 9-11 PM usually so I can be alert for the kids during the day.

This place is conveniently located near railroad station (Caltrain Milbrae) to San Francisco as well as the international airport. I really appreciate that Jocelyn promptly responded to and accommodated my requests. Guests were friendly, motivated startup founders. Definitely great bang for the buck!
The hostess was easy going and welcoming, this place is the best place to stay in especially if you are traveling from or to SFO.
Everything was clean and organized!
I definitely met a diverse group of individuals. For the most part, it was tolerable. It was definitely a challenge getting sleep. There was a lot of traffic the first week, due to a nonfunctional toilet. So, everyone kept coming In to the room I slept in. It was near the kitchen and living room, so you can hear people talk very loudly past midnight. I spoke with Jocelyn and she suggested other rooms. I opted for the back cottage reserved for long term renters. It was a bit stuffy, six bunks to a room. I couldn't sleep either due to a squeaky door, a box fan that another renter demanded to keep on. THE FINALE, when the same renter cursed out another person at 1am in the morning. Overall experience, decent place for shower and power nap. Would I stay there again? Only if I was very very very tired. I think to avoid future conflicts, people with similar schedules and personalities should room together. I wasn't too happy about the coed concept :/
Thank you for hosting me. The location is incredibly convenient for someone like me who had to take an early plane out of city the next morning. I had chance to have had the chance to have a number of pleasant and fruitful conversations with the other guests.
A quick stay before running off to SFO first thing in the morning....
Perfect Hostess as per description.
Clean and good neighborhood.
Easy to find with good restaurants - do lean toward more the oriental flavor.
One challenge is the dog at the back - barking quite a bit.
Otherwise, I will definitely stay there again!
The host was very friendly as were the other guests in the home. The listing indicated shared room but not dormitory 4 to a room it would have been nice to know this in advance.
There were dirty dishes in the sink almost all the time, and the trash cans were overflowing.
It was an interesting experience for my first Airbnb trip.
Jocelyn was very welcoming despite my very short notice. The accommodations were nice, convenient relative to the Caltrain, and in a nice area. It was a convenient, inexpensive place to stay for one night on short notice.

Hi! I'm Jocelyn. Besides running this hacker house I am a special needs teacher in a severe to moderate classroom, run a kids hacker day camp, and am taking computer science classes. I've taught all kinds of kids all kinds of skills, from computers to daily living to swimming. Some of my long-term goals include starting a home-based preschool, use social networking to connect professionals in the entrepreneurial fields, maker fields, and educational fields to create long-term changes in our educational system, especially for those in Early Childhood Education, those with disabilities, and those of lower Socio-Economic status communities. I've started this house to bring Hackers, Entrepreneurs, Educators and basically anyone who is interested in making the world a better place for our future generations.
