Bright, charming one bedroom (with an extra office room) with exposed brick is a Park Slope gem. Centrally located near the Barclay's Center subways and Prospect Park, you'll love your stay here.
This bright and sunny floor-through in Park Slope is only a few blocks from the Barclay's Center and Prospect Park. Located between the bustling coffeeshops, boutique shopping and restaurants of 5th Avenue and sleepy 6th, it's a hop, skip and jump to the restaurants of Prospect Heights. One comfy queen bed and a long couch that becomes almost a full twin. There's a beautiful kitchen, full bath, A/C in two rooms, and a quiet view to backyards. Wake up to birdsong as if you aren't in the city, bike or run in the park (bike available to borrow), visit friends for brunch, or walk over to Barclay's Center to catch a game or a show. If you'd rather stay in, hook up your computer to my nice flatscreen TV, order in & watch Netflix. I have a cable, too, with the major channels. Near Fort Greene, Boerum Hill, Smith St. and Court, a nice meander up to beautiful Prospect Park (where there's a farmer's market on Saturdays), the Brooklyn Museum and the Botanical Gardens. There's a yoga studio, a fantastic coffeeshop, a large grocery store, a great nail salon, laundromat & best massages in Brooklyn across the street and pretty much everything you could want within a mere half block. Atlantic terminal is about three blocks away; you can catch the 2,3,4,5,B,Q, and R trains, or you can take the B63 bus down to the Cobble Hill / Brooklyn Heights area if you'd rather not go underground. If you're driving, there is often parking on the street.

One of the most popular, comfortable, and coveted neighborhoods Brooklyn, you'll find everything you need in the north Park Slope / Prospect Heights area.
Barclay's Center, Atlantic Terminal (LIRR), B, Q, 2, 3, 4, 5, D, N, R, within 2-4 blocks of apartment, G, and C a few more blocks away in Fort Greene just past Barclay's. Frequent taxis on 5th, Bergen, and Flatbush, and B61 and B63 bus close by. Parking on the street is okay as long as there isn't a huge event at Barclay's. From LGA, taxi is easiest. From JFK take the LIRR to Atlantic.
Other Things to Note
This is an old apartment building and the floors are creaky; please respect my neighbors and live lightly in the apartment, removing your shoes and keeping the music at a respectable volume.
Please respect my neighbors. No smoking. Only use the dishes, post and pans designated for guests, as well as the closet and dressers set aside for you. I'll leave guidebooks and do my best to welcome you if you are from out of town. NO extra people, please, unless we have made a special arrangement. I don't allow guests and cannot accommodate small children since my space is not child-proof and there is lead paint.
a beautiful home. close to excellent transport links. the neighbourhood (the other 5th avenue of nyc) is fantastic and gives you a perfect insight into life in nyc.
meredith was a great host, the instructions were really easy to follow and the descriptions of everything are exactly as they are. her neighbours were welcoming too. the house was warm, even as the snow fell in buckets outside.
in short, a great experience for us (two adults and one toddler).
Great apartment complete with everything for a comfortable stay. Meredith was a pleasure to work with, and easily accessible by text message throughout the stay.
The apartment was perfect for our four-day trip to New York. Getting to and from Manhattan was easy via the subway and the local shops had everything we needed (cafés, restaurants, bars and conveniences). The apartment was exactly as pictured and described. As mentioned by Meredith it is a creaky floor, but we were prepared for that.
Meredith was really helpful with information before we arrived. As first time Air BnB users we didn't really know what to expect but the instructions were clear, including how to get here from the airport, and we found and entered the apartment with no problems.
Meredith was out of town by the time I arrived, but she made me feel completely welcome with her detailed and friendly email, even offering the use of her rain boots (I did use them; it poured!) And she answered follow-up questions immediately. The apartment is exactly as depicted, very comfortable for one person. I loved being adjacent to 5th which I took advantage of by having a manicure at Element and dinner at Boccolini. Taking the subway into Manhattan was a cinch. A beautiful tree-lined walk took me to Prospect Park in the morning and Gowanus in the afternoon - Pie and coffee at Four and Twenty Blackbirds, yum.
Meredith was kind enough to facilitate a last minute booking, and for that I'm extremely grateful. If you're looking for a wonderfully authentic Brooklyn experience, look no further. Meredith's place was exactly as described and so much more. The street is perfectly Park Slope in that it's quiet, tree-lined and full of the Brooklyn personality that I was looking for. All at less than half the price of a hotel. I came up for some business in Manhattan and a concert at the Barclay's Center so the location was perfect -- just a short trip into the city (lots of close by subway options) and stumbling distance from the venue and nightlife (while still not being too close).
The apartment is quiet and cozy, but not ridiculously small like places I've stayed in the past. The loudest thing about the place is the floors, they tend to creak a bit, but (in my experience) that's a common quality trait of brownstone living. The bed and bedding were comfortable and clean as was the rest of the apartment. All in all, this is a great place for a single or couple traveler looking to feel like a local. Highly recommended.
The apartment was just as pictured in the listing, and very clean, in a nice quiet neighborhood close to several restaurants and cafes. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable.
I had arrived unexpectedly very late at night and had some difficulty locating the keys for the apartment, but even so late, Meredith was reachable by phone and was able to quickly help me find everything and get settled in!
She also provided some great area activity guides and suggestions for nearby restaurants. I would certainly return to stay here again, and hopefully spend some more time exploring this area of Brooklyn.
