Chic Studio Close To BTS+River+WIFI

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Charoen Krung soi 65/ The Station Condo, Bangkok, Bangkok 10120, Thailand

This chic studio is located in the heart of Bangkok and is within walking distance of the BTS. The bright, chic room is situated on the 8th floor of a couple years old 17 story condo complex. The room is only less than 1 year old.

The Space

**I have another listing in the same building**

https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/1982413

This bright modern studio features separate kitchen, bedroom and living area as well as a western style 3 piece bathroom with hot water.

The room easily sleeps two people but could accommodate other guest with the comfortable sofa bed located in the living room.

The well equipped kitchen features a brand new full size Samsung Fridge, an electric hot plate for cooking, toaster, coffee pot, cutlery, pots pans, glasses and utensils needed for preparing light meals. We also provide instant coffee, sugar and cream.

For entertainment, a new 32" LCD TV is provided with access to 230 channels as well a DVD player, 50 provided DVD's, and an ipod music dock for listening to tunes.

A ready to use cellphone is provided for guests with local number. As a pay and talk device during their stay if they desire. They would only need a prepaid minutes from the 7-11, which is less than 1 block away.

Guest Access

Guests have full access to the facilities of the condo, including 5th floor swimming pool, and well equipped fitness center.

I provide a cell phone with local SIM card. As a world traveler, I understand what sense of security it can bring when you always have somebody to call when in a country you don't speak the language.

Guests are provided complimentary wifi access with our room, and wifi is also provided at no charge in the lobby from the condo.

The building does have reliable security with gated access to the buildings and key card access for entry past the lobby.

A coin-operated self laundry area is available on the second floor, next to the parkade with washers and dryers available.

A laundry service is available for guests on a pay by piece basis on the ground floor next to the minimart.

A minimart is available on the ground floor open (phone number hidden) offering snacks, drinks, pop, beer, and goods usually found at corner marts. A 7-11 is available within a 50m walk and is open 24hrs.

Interaction with Guests

My parents, local Thai residents, live a few blocks away and will in most cases, provide the key and card necessary for access to the condo.

As well, they are more than willing to help out with little stuff like initial orientation, taxis, advice on local food and transportation as well as any special needs you might have.

They don't speak perfect English, but we have never had issues communicating properly with guests.

Any major concerns, problems or travel advise within Bangkok can be emailed to me with local help possibly coordinated through my parents if necessary.

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is awesome. The condo is located just meters from a major historic road which links to Silom Road, Sathorn, and Chinatown as well as the Grand Palace.

It is a 400 meter walk to the majestic Chao Phraya river, with a nearby pier offering express boat service, every 20 minutes from 6:00am to 7:30pm to the Grand Palace, Wat Arun area. This would be a good way to avoid the traffic jams and offers a cool perspective on local Bangkok culture.

Asiatique The Riverfront is a Bangkok’s first large-scale riverside community mall combining shopping, dining, sightseeing, activities and events under one roof. The strong cultural aspect is what sets it apart from other shopping malls. There are more than 1,500 boutiques selling ultimate souvenir, fashionable cloths, textiles, accessories and home decor items. With more than 40 restaurants, there are Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Italian and seafood dishes served all night. It is about 10 mins on taxi or you can take free Shutter ferry from Sathorn pier. Please see the pictures.

Local food vendors are available within a 25 meter walk of the condo offering Thai dishes, including famous dishes like Tom Yum, Pad Thai, and Papaya Salad as well as local rice and noodle dishes.

Getting around

The BTS skytrain station called Sapan Thaksin operating on the Silom Line, is a 500m walk from the condo. The skytrain does link up with the MRT from the silom line, with both systems offering cheap, reliable, hassle free ways to get to many of Bangkok's major tourist destinations, local entertainment as well as the wealth of restaurants, bars and shopping that the city is famous for.

Taxi's are quite plentiful in the neighborhood and are an easy way to get around. Advice on taxi's would be to insist that the meter is always used, and it is best to make sure the driver is clear on his or her destination before departing. Is helpful sometimes to have the destination written in Thai to avoid mis-understandings.

Getting to and from the airport is best left to taxi's or airport ground transfer companies. Expect a charge of approximately 400 baht include Toll/Express Way charges, which are not the obligation of the taxi driver.

Other Things to Note

WHY STAY AT THE CHIC STUDIO?
**********************************************************************
If you're the type of person who enjoys stepping out the the typical tourist traps and wants a home away from home where you can live more like a local, this is for you. So close to many things, you don't have to go far to feel right at home in Bangkok.

As well, staying in this condo provides access to real life in a Bangkok neighbourhood. You'll gain insight into life in Bangkok, with locals residents working, eating, drinking, shopping right around you. Much better than staying at a chain hotel set in a tourist area of the town.
*********************************************************************

Before I accept your reservation request, I would like to know a little bit about you. I refused to accept if your profile is empty with just a name.

All the reservations need to be made thru airbnb. Airbnb cancellation policy should be respected. Please finalize your trip before you make reservation.

EARLY CHECK IN AND LATE CHECKOUT ARE SUBJECT TO ROOM AVAILABILITY. It is impossible to allow early access to the place if another guest was staying in the condo the night before.

If a potential guest wants guaranteed access to the room earlier than the 2:00pm check in time they will have to book the night before they arrive. Despite the fact that the calendar might show a vacancy the night before you arrive, this could change at any time.

If you are making two separate bookings at the room on one trip, we don't have the ability to store your stuff in the room during your absence. This would clearly impede our ability to rent it out in your absence.

If you have any questions on these policies please ask.

We will try our best to make our guests feel as comfortable as they stay at their own home. I respond to all inquiries very quickly.

Cheers,
Bee

  • It was my first time and experience to travel with airbnb. I was fortunate to be hosted by Bee. Bee and her father were awesome and very helpful. The apt I stayed was very lovely, cozy & cute. The location was close to the train station. The most important was that Bee and her father were always there and ready to help you when you need them. I do recommend Bee's apt to everybody. I will stay here next time when I travel back.

  • I had a great stay in Bee's studio. It was clean and a great location. I liked walking to the BTS station every morning and evening and grabbing some food at the hawker stalls along the way. I was in Bangkok for a conference, so I wasn't looking at the place as a tourist, but as someone who used to live in Bangkok, I feel the location is perfect for a traveler who wants to be close enough to transportation to the tourist locales but within a local Thai community to see the weekend pop up markets or day-to-day life. Also, Bee's father is a fabulous host-- he goes out of his way to be helpful and means it when he suggests you call him for anything you may need. I will definitely use this studio when I return to Bangkok!

Thank you Keli for such a lovely review. Hope to host you again in the near future. Best, Bee

  • We enjoyed our stay at Bee’s apartment and were very appreciative of her enthusiastic “support team”. The apartment is very well located, modern and well equipped, and very comfortable. But the real “kicker” for us was Bee’s father and his efforts to enhance our stay in Bangkok. He met us at the airport for a midnight arrival, showed us around the apartment neighborhood, presented us with fruit and an evening snack, exchanged money for us, and drove us back to the airport after a five day stay. On the last evening, we enjoyed a dinner with Bee’s parents at a local restaurant.
We have visited Bangkok several times before and don’t think we could find a better place to stay. Bee and her parents were committed to making our visit to Bangkok special. Highly recommended.

Hi Ed and Yang, We are pleased to hear you had a great stay and service from us. This kind of review motivate us to continue to help our guests to have a great stay in Thailand.

  • Our second stay at Bee's condo was almost better than the first...hard as that may be to imagine. Again, heartfelt thanks to Bee, Pimon and the entire family!!

  • Cozy apartment near the river and BTS. Bee's dad is very nice and Bee is a great communicator. The kitchen is actually outside on the balcony through a separate glass door. The neighborhood is pretty grimy and not much to speak of but if you walk far enough to the other side of the BTS there is more or just take a boat from the pier to take you to other areas.

    Response from Bee:

Hi Diane, Glad you had a great service from us and the room is cozy and clean. As for the neighborhood. Charoen Krung Road was the oldest road in Bangkok, was built from Wat Pho and the Grand Palace and stretches for 8.5 km. The area formerly known as Bang Rak and this area is absolutely surrounded by local Thai people. It is not a very busy tourist area but it is still very close to many of attractions:)

  • Bee and her family were superb hosts!! Bee was a wonderful communicator and went far above the call, with great suggestions for our time in Bangkok and for our travels in Thailand. Her dad was a lovely, congenial man who treated us like long lost relatives and mom and brother were awesome. It was such a wonderful way to experience a new country / culture.
The condo itself is everything you see. Well appointed, with tasteful furnishings, super clean and comfy. I wouldn't hesitate for one second to recommend this lovely home and family!! 5 stars!! Thank you Bee!! We so look forward to our return!

Thank you Katherine for a wonderful review. We can't wait for your return in a week. Have a great time:)

  • Its was a very nice experience! Bee and her father Pimon are really gentle and good anfitrions. Fresh mineral water, fresh fruits and coffee provided. Although is not a turist neightbor, its only 5 secure blocks to BTS that goes everywhere! Thanks a lot Bee!! We really recomend this apartment!!

Thank you Cecilia, The review is mean a lots. Have a fun time exploring Thailand!

  • What a great place! The apartment is very well equipped in a quiet building away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok - and even has a great gym and pool! Conveniently located close to the BTS and river ferry, access to Bangkok's major sites is really easy. Away from the tourist areas, you are surrounded by the way the Thai people live on a day to day basis.

Bee is a very attentive and responsive host (despite living in Canada) as is her dad, who picked us up from the airport, and was very helpful and keen to make sure our stay was good.

A great experience - many thanks!

About
I was born and raised in Bangkok. Now, I have been living in Canada with my husband and 6 year old twin girls for almost 11 years. I am self employed and run a retail business in Southern Alberta. I mostly enjoy eating, shopping, technology and travels to fun destinations and with fun people. I LOVE to travel and embrace the passion of adventure. Getting to know countries by seeing, doing, eating, smelling and adventuring is more my style. I am not the tour group style traveler. My favourite beach, Hands-down Phra Nang Beach in Thailand. Beautiful beach, people and super cheap local Thai foods. My hosting style could be described as helpful, if a person would like a bit of advice or need a bit of help orientating in the area. I certainly can lend a hand on food, destinations and travel recommendations within Thailand and also my father is nearby and always available to help out. I have encountered the frustrations of language barriers and being scammed when travelling sometimes, so to help other travellers avoid that is a pleasure!!
