Nestled between Mt Rainier Ntl. Park and Mt St Helens, Lakewood Lodge is your home base to see the area! Located in the Mayfield Lake marina village, you get all the fun and beauty of the lake, with the quiet wilderness being adjacent to DNR land. Watch the deer and bald eagles from the yard! Huge social fire pit and enjoy private access to the lake! Use our kayaks & paddleboards (May thru Sept) from our private dock. Additional fee: RV spot & your boat on our dock.
The space
Come enjoy this gem of a vacation rental! The
semi-wooded, nicely landscaped, well-maintained property has a 1056 sq ft home with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, a nice deck with a view of the woods and nature, a large fire pit and grassy yard. Inside is the perfect get-away house: comfortable furnishings and well-stocked so you don't feel the need to compromise away from home.
Our property also has the added bonus of use of our private dock on the lake! Use of kayaks/paddleboards (May-Sept) included with your stay and are already at the dock! If you'd like to moor your boat, contact host, extra fee applies and must show boater card/insurance.
There is a separate adjacent cabin adding the option for more guests, if needed (see separate listing). We also offer a driveway full RV hookup for larger groups. Message host for fee details!
IMPORTANT NOTE: The property is divided into the upper house and the lower cabin, each of which has it's own space and rents separately, although they can be rented together. Please respect the line dividing the two areas (brick line in lower driveway). The cabin has the lower half of the property. The upper half is for the house.
The property is not waterfront. The dock is ~10 min walk from property. You may use kayaks or paddleboards from May thru Sept, right from our private dock. These are included with your stay! Safety is most important, and all MUST wear life jackets at all times. We have several, including children's. No life jacket, no use!
We (selectively) rent our dock space for your boat to very EXPERIENCED boaters only. If you are interested, message Kristi/host. State boater card required.
Guest access
Guests can access the entire property except in the main house the "cleaning closet" in the primary's bath is off-limits and locked. There is also a shed on the premises for gardener/owner use only.
The cabin is rented separately or additionally, so if not rented by guest, it too is locked and unavailable for use. When both are rented separately, the house gets large fire pit and adjacent deck, and the upper yard. Cabin gets their own adjacent deck, fire pit, and lower yard.
Other things to note
Chairs, unlimited firewood, and marshmallow sticks are provided for the fire pit.
Only those people and pets on the reservation are allowed. No parties.

Neighborhood highlights
Midway between Tacoma and Portland, we are located in a private part of the best neighborhood, just outside of the Mayfield marina. Lake Mayfield is a Tacoma Power reservoir, and recreational by design.
Summertime in the neighborhood is busier, with fun lake activities during the day, and people driving UTVs around to others' campfires for good times in the evenings. On weekends there are activities such as family dances and music at the marina.
In the cooler months, it is much quieter. Many homes in the neighborhood are vacation homes exclusively, so very peaceful. The house is adjacent to DNR property, so deer and bald eagles can be regularly spotted.
