About this listing
Nice apartment with patio on the ground floor of a beautiful building in one of the most beautiful areas of Rome in the Monti district. A short walk from the Colosseum, a neighborhood made up of narrow streets, bistros, boutiques, a strategic area for walking throughout the city or by underground. The apartment is furnished in modern style, consisting of 2 bedrooms, one double and one with 2 single beds, a kitchen and a bathroom design. Very quiet and with a lovely patio where to enjoy the cool breeze of Rome called "Ponentino"

Great location! Close to major tourist sites and a block from some of the best gelato in (website hidden) in the summer was a great perk. Lovely space but it's better advertised as a 1 BR with the living room easily acting as a second bedroom but there's no door/limited privacy.
Grand appartement refait à neuf en rez-de-chaussée dans quartier idealement situé à 10 min à pied du Coloseo.
Très bien reçu par Anna.
Seul hic l'humidité et son odeur persistante dans le studio : chambre et sdb.
Here are the pros and cons about our stay at the apartment:
+ great location. Only 10 minutes from Colosseum/Forums on foot; close to a nice litte square with a fountain where many (mainly young) people spend their quitting time. Nice area with hip restaurants/bars close by.
+ fresh sheets as well as towels were provided by the host
+ nice furniture
+ handover of the keys worked without any problems
+ usually really quiet, no traffic noises whatsoever
+ good comfy beds
+ washing machine and other appliances available
+ fully equipped kitchenette with espresso maker.
-The flat smells really musty! After some days at the apartment you hardly smell it anymore, because you start to get used to it, but when we arrived at home we realized all our clothes had that bad smell too!
-There is mold in the bathroom probably due to the moist weather… however it was a little unpleasant.
-Every tap as well as the shower head badly needs to be descaled! Everything was wet after showering!
-The terrace was actually not useable due to hundreds of mosquitos living there since they can’t get out of there somehow. Since there is no air draft at all due to the high buildings surrounding the terrace, the air is quite stale.
-One night a person knocked at the outer entrance door like crazy and kept ringing the doorbell at 2 am. This is of course not the fault of our hosts, but we were really scared and already wanted to call the police. The next day, we found out that the lock of the entrance door was broken – this is why the person outside acted like that; but instead of calmly finding a solution in the middle of the night, the neighbor (?) obviously considered it as better to ring all the house’s doorbells and acting all crazy outside for almost an hour.
So all in all a nice place to stay at if you are in Rome only for a few nights. We understand the building is probably old and its hard (or hardly impossible) to get rid of the mold, but regarding this, the price is not appropriate. In a hotel we would have immediately swapped rooms.
We are very satisfied with our stay. The appartement looked well and everything worked. The airconditioning worked very well and we had warm water. The wifi was okay. The shower however was not in the best condition as the water did not came out of the shower head as it should be. Furthermore we had clean sheets and the beds were okay.
We were very happy to stay a few hours longer as we depart at 21:00. We could leave our bagage at the appartement for the whole day. This was no problem for Valentina. Thanks for that.
Pros: The apartment was in a good location, matched the photos, and had hot water. Beds were very comfortable. Cons: The apartment had a strong mildew smell and the bathroom smelled strongly of urine despite my best efforts to clean it. The shower has a half wall and it leaks, so the bathroom floor was always wet. We used the towels provided to keep the floor dry. The wifi stopped working our first night so Anna brought a new modem. The new one worked but was so slow we couldn't load web pages, directions, or make a wifi call. It was virtually unusable and we had to rely on our cellular data.
We never met Valentina, only her friend/business partner Anna and her son. This is not Valentina's apartment, it's a rental business they're running, which on the plus side means they were responsive to our needs (like when wifi crashed).
Valentina told me they provide an airport transfer but was not forthcoming with answers when I asked who this person was, if he would speak English, etc. I was hesitant but agreed to it based on reviews on Airbnb. We had different drivers to and from the airport so I don't think the reviews are helpful. Both drivers were very nice but they're just taxi drivers.
Thanks Valentina for having us stay. Apartment was great and in a perfect location to walk to everything. Your friend that met us was very helpful and accommodating. Everything was a breeze ;) thank you
Very nice place, can sleep 4 very easily. We booked this place for location and because it had a washer and we wanted to pack light for our trip. The location was great, really close to the main train station and the colosseum. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted including the Vatican. The washer was great but it was difficult to dry the clothes because it's a bottom floor unit and the place we generally cold that the close would never really dry. Other than that the amenities were as described and there are plenty of restaurants around.
