This apartment is located in a basement. One room with three beds (one hundred and fifty cm, one hundred and twenty cm and one seventy cm) table and chairs. Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom.
The slate floor, stone walls and wooden ceiling makes a nice atmosphere.
Unfortunately there is some noise from the shop upstairs in the daytime.
It is situated in a cute shopping street. Bars and restaurant just around the corner. Fish marked - two minutes walk away and the funicular station that takes you to Mount Fløyen - 50 m away.
This very central and ideally located studio flat with bathroom and kitchen was a good base for exploring the harbour area and taking the funicular up the mountain. The apartment was comfortable although we had to sit on the beds as apart from the dining chairs there was nowhere else. There were three of us in the one room and the weather (February rain and snow) meant we spent more time indoors that we might have done in better conditions. If there had been five of us, it would have been too cramped. It was generally quiet although a local nightclub pumped out music on one night (until around 5am on the Sunday morning). Nevertheless, if we were to go back to Bergen we would book there again. Good bedlinen and nice quality furnishings/fittings. Bring slippers.
very cosy, very charming, kitchen very useful
felt like home in norway... near floyen, near the fish market, and near a supermarket... if i had the money... i will definetely buy it... very nice flat... you feel loved...
About the place - it's located very conveniently. The bus from the airport takes you to the station from where it's only 7-10min walk. The tram to the mountain is right next to the place, very cool if you want to catch an early or late view of Bergen. The street the place is on is very quiet, no noise at all! 5 minutes walk to famous Bryggen. Supermarket and two 7/11s are very close as well.
A few notes to consider: wifi is not very stable, sometimes was working perfectly fine, sometimes was very slow. The place is located in the basement, so it felt a bit cold during my stay in the end of December, despite the 24/7 working portable oil heater. Shower in the morning was quite a refreshment, as the heater doesn't really reach the bathroom. The window goes right to the street and everything can be seen inside, unless you turn on the light right by the window, which blocks the view from the outside. Not a big issue, but should keep that in mind.
Kitchen is good, everything is there. Bed is soft, with 2 blankets. The stone walls of the apartment give it a special atmosphere. I think, the place wud be great especially for summer-autumn season.
A few words about the host: Vibeke replied the messages quite promptly, met us right outside the apartment even though we arrived late (around midnight), she actually saw/heard our luggages on the road and came to meet us. Vibeke also helped us by buying some food in advance, which was really helpful as we were hungry upon arrival and most places to eat were closed. She also arranged a taxi for us early in the morning, which was necessary due to the snowing and heavy luggages we had on us.
Thanx for the great stay at your place and wish you the best!
The listing description was accurate. Or rather, the apartment was even more charming than the description. It is very centrally located (a five minute walk from the flybussen stop), near the water, on a cute little side street near lots of shops and restaurants. The apartment itself is a former basement workshop (meaning not much natural light but it was December in Bergen so we weren't expecting any anyway) so the space is a little quirky but very workable. The three of us were very comfortable. Vibeke was easy to communicate with and accommodating of our ever-changing schedule. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the place to others.
Vibeke's flat was perfect for our family of three and very accommodating. Vibeke was great and easy to work with and responded quickly to all our emails.
The flat was perfectly located! Could not have been in a better spot.
We would highly recommend this place!
Vibeke bor rett over gaten, veldig praktisk. Vi elsket stedet og kommer igjen neste år! Tusen takk for oss!
Very tasteful little appartment. Ideal location to explore Bergen, next to restaurants, museums and cafes. Only the possibilities to park our car were a bit "limited"...
