About this listing
This relaxed and comfortable space will put you in the heart of Austin. It's half a mile from the TX capitol, walking distance (~20 min) to 6th st., and right next to the UT campus. I have plenty of recommendations--just ask!
Hi! Thanks for considering staying at my place.
The condo is across the street from the UT campus and a block from the AT&T Conference Center, and about a 10-15 minute walk to the capitol (half a mile). There is a bathroom (with shower and tub), enough towels for everyone, and a washer/dryer. There is free wi-fi. The building also has a pool that is open year round. Parking is free after 6pm on the streets around the building. You can also get lot parking for $4/day a few blocks away.
The kitchen is well stocked and you can save money by eating in. The unit is within walking distance of downtown and is near a number of cheap restaurants and shops on the "Drag." Busses run very close to my building (catch one going downtown at 16th and Guadalupe) and can take you anywhere around town fairly easily--it's $2-3 for a 24 hour pass. There is a bike room in the basement and a bike share kiosk a couple blocks away.
You'll have a set of keys and can come and go as you please.
Interaction with Guests
I live in Austin and am happy to answer any questions you might have or address situations as they arise.
You'll be close to downtown but out of the craziness of 6th and the traffic there. This place is really convenient if you're doing things downtown or on the UT campus, and there are plenty of cheap places to eat nearby. The view out of the windows is looking downtown. There's a great coffee/Tex-Mex (Arturo's) place a block away, the TX Chili Parlor is down the street, and there a few great bars within walking distance.
There is a bus stop and B-cycle bike sharing station 1.5 blocks from the building.
Other Things to Note
parking: go to the parkme website for nearby parking garage options. The street is free after 6pm and until 8am.
I'm a recent UT grad with a degree in supply chain management and sociology. I'm currently working at the Capital Area Food Bank . I care a lot about people having a fair chance and about not wasting the resources we have. I also love to read, explore the world around me (hiking, running, urban exploration), people watch, and generally try new things.
As far as hosting goes, I'm quite relaxed. I prefer to give you a set of keys and basically make you a temporary roommate. Come and go as you please, just keep me posted if any of your plans involve the apartment.
If you stay at my place, I want you to have the best experience possible. If there's anything I can help with or questions I can answer, please ask and I'll do my best to answer.
