This is a true, private studio in the heart of San Francisco's famed Mission District. It's a perfect home base for an individual, couple or group of 3 to 4 travelers looking for a real San Francisco experience. I look forward to hosting you!
This is a true, private studio in the heart of San Francisco's famed Mission District and a perfect home base for an individual, couple or group of 3 to 4 travelers looking for a real San Francisco experience.
The studio includes a large studio room with a queen size bed, a separate and fully-equipped kitchen, a bathroom with shower and tub and a very comfortable, large fold-out fouton. Per guest request, the studio also now has an upgraded high speed WiFi and cable access modem that gets 5 to 20 Mbps so you are more than internet-enabled.
A neighborhood grocery store, coffee shop, laundromat and laundry service are all within 2 minutes walking - this truly is a fantastic neighborhood.
As a frequent traveler myself, I know how important communication and easy key transfer are. Rest assured that getting you access to the studio will be extremely easy and that I will be available throughout your stay if you have any questions or want to touch base (see comments from previous visitors).
The BART - San Francisco's fastest transit system - is a block and a half away (24th Street and Mission Station) and gives you easy access to the rest of the city and a direct link to and from San Francisco Airport (the BART connects directly to SFO). You can take BART directly from the airport and be at my studio in 30 minutes - a taxi takes 15.
A variety of great restaurants (authentic Mission Mexican, vegetarian / vegan, sea food etc) and phenomenal coffee and tea (most notably Philz coffee, a must-visit San Francisco 'by hand' coffee shop) are all within easy walking distance.
Previous guests rave about the location, Mission culture and ambiance, access to BART, internet speed and extremely easy key transfer and access to the studio.
It's a great home base for any visit to San Francisco personal or professional. Welcome to SF!
The studio is private -- only guests have access to the studio for the entire stay.

The Mission is an incredibly dynamic part of San Francisco. The district includes a blossoming tech sector, a large Hispanic influence and population and a little San Francisco bohemia to top things off. Great restaurants. Great night life. Fun and safe area. Arguably the best area to stay within in San Francisco today.
My studio is literally 2 minutes from a BART stop, which is the fastest mass transit system in the city and directly connects to the city's MUNI system, which is the second best transit system in the city. You can get to and from the airport in 25 minutes using BART door-to-door. The studio is perfectly located for exploring San Francisco without a car.
Please, no smoking.
Studio does come with spices and a nice kitchen but guests will need to bring or buy most of their own food.
Please, no extremely loud music or noises after 11 pm out of respect for the neighbors.
Such a great experience. John was a great host, very helpful and responsive. Would definitely stay agan.
The detailed instructions and restaurant tips were terrific. This cute studio had everything I needed - and is in one of my favorite parts of the city. Thanks, John!
I stayed 2 nights at John's apartment. Check in was easy and John was a great/fast communicator. Great location in the interesting mission district and only a block a from the BART station, giving easy access to the rest of the city.
John was very helpful with advising us where to eat and what to see, not only in the Mission District, but in San Francisco. The studio was no frills, just clean, comfortable accommodations which is all we require. The building was quiet, which was a plus for us, as we are fairly early to bed. A coffee maker, clean towels and sheets, soap and shampoo were provided. San Francisco was cold, but the gas heat kept us toasty warm in the apartment. I was a little apprehensive, to tell you the truth, about having to find the key in a real estate lock box in an alley. Fortunately, we had no trouble getting the lock box open when we arrived. But on the morning we left, we couldn't get it open and left the keys in the apartment instead. John said that was okay, however. We were close to BART and a good bakery and I felt safe in the neighborhood and the building. Overall, I'd give John and his studio apartment an A.
The place is fantastic for a short stay! We stayed for 3 nights at John's place. It's easy to get to the Bart, and comes with a well equipped kitchen
John had very good instructions on getting in — made it super easy. He was very nice and gracious, even though we just communicated through text.
Absolutely phenomenal apartment if you are looking for a place to stay on a solo trip. The apartment is cozy and conveniently located in a fantastic location. John was accessible and the booking was super easy. I'd definitely stay here again.
