Based in Los Angeles, I commute to work a couple days a week in SF. I am an executive at an amazing online media company, so when I’m up here I spend most of my time in the office or with clients. My wife didn’t want my ‘home away from home’ to not feel like home, so we’ve brought up some of my must-have’s like the Tempur-pedic® bed and she’s put a few of her decorating touches around the place. I only store a few things here, so for the most part we try to make it feel like your very own hotel room!
I'm also a bit of a foodie - so check out my guidebook for recommendations on some of the best eats nearby.
Thank you for your interest and safe travels. We look forward to hosting you!

Great location in SF! The building was clean, safe and quiet. The room was exactly as it was described, updated and hotel-like. Just what I was looking for!
Incredibly comfortable bed.
Very flexible check out time.
Doorman (although not 24 hr).
Nice location, close to a lot of things but away from the crazy tourist areas.
Cons (being a bit nit-picky, I admit):
Not the best water pressure.
Overall great. Would recommend.
This was the perfect place for our weekend in san Fran! We wanted a low key spot that we could go about our business, this was exactly that. Great location for everything, and we really felt like locals, would move in if there were a kitchen. Internet like people said is spotty but no biggie. Could use a new shower head, and we had to buy toilet paper, but other than those little things place was just what we needed it for. Def recommend!
Stayed at Colin's place mid November for a holiday plus conference. His place is just as advertised. Easy check in, great space, walking distance to Union Square. It's about a 10 minute brisk walk to Moscone Centre where our conference was being held.
He was very informative through out the whole stay, and easy to get a hold of by email.
Can't recommend this place and Colin enough!
It was our first booking using Airbnb. Thank you Colin for making it a memorable and positiver first go!
Colin's apartment was exactly as pictured, and was a good place to stay for a few nights. Fabulously central location (NB it borders the Tenderloin).
The major drawback for me was the internet connection, which was decidedly patchy (tried on a mac, a dell laptop, an htc and an iphone); since I was trying to work from the flat this was a bigger deal than it would be for most people.
I'd recommend staying here for sure if you don't need to be online much, but this isn't the place to stay if you need reliable internet! Checking emails every now and again - fine; trying to make work calls on (website hidden) hangouts or (website hidden) - definitely not fine.
Apart from that, an extremely enjoyable stay. Thanks, Colin!
Colin is very accommodating. Easy check-in and check-out. The apartment is as he describes it. The bed is very comfortable and room was nice and clean. The location is great and convenient to Union Square. If I come back to San Francisco I would stay here again.
Be sure to check out his guidebook some great recommendations. Zuni was amazing!
The apartment was as listed and in a great location. As mentioned, it is a no-frills place but it was sufficient for our purposes. Colin was responsive and accommodating. It was a pleasant experience overall. My only constructive feedback is that the shower water pressure was pretty non-existent with little water trickling from the shower head...but, it's a pretty old building and the inconvenience was minimal.
We really enjoyed our stay here for 4 nights in September.
Colin was such a great host! This was our first time trying airbnb, and he was helpful explaining the renting process with us. We didn't get a chance to meet him personally, but he was very quick to respond to any questions I had. He was also very flexible with check-in/check-out times. The place was exactly as described and it had just enough space for the two of us.
The best part about staying here was definitely the LOCATION!
Thanks Colin! :)
Great location, as described by Colin.
Very flexible with move in and out times.
We enjoyed our stay at Colin's place. It was centrally located, clean, and comfortable. All in all, you won't be able to beat this place in terms of comfort, location, and price.
The unit is located in a former boutique hotel in the Nob Hill/Union Square area. It is close to the Tenderloin, which is a seedy area, but far enough away that you won't be affected by it unless you wander off in the wrong direction. The building is older, but appears to be secure. It requires a key to gain access. There is someone sitting at the front desk, which adds additional security, who can buzz you in as well. There is a small lobby. According to some posted signs, the building plans to renovate the lobby soon. You can take the elevator or the stairs in order to get to the unit.
The unit itself is very small, but offers a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing place to stay. The floors were wood, which adds some San Francisco charm. The bed was super comfortable and was dressed in jersey-type cotton sheets. There is also free wireless internet. I believe there was cable too, but we didn't use the TV at all. The unit has a desk in the corner and mini fridge. There were some other decorations, including a trunk, flower vases, and books, all of which added to the atmosphere.
There isn't a kitchen or even a microwave, so don't expect to cook here. SF is known for its food, so I'm not sure why you'd want to anyhow! The bathroom is also small and the shower could use some more water pressure. But, it was clean and offered everything we needed. Not sure if this is helpful, but the blinds on Colin's unit are slat blinds. That means that they do not block out all of the light. However, the unit faces either north or southwest (if I remember correctly), so the sun wasn't peeking in on us in the morning. We didn't have any problems sleeping in a little.
Although we did not get to meet him, Colin was super accessible via phone and text. He was super friendly and helped us with our stay -- i.e. getting the keys, logging into the internet, checkout time, etc.
Again, we had a great stay at Colin's!
