This was my second time staying with Peg, and I've already booked my third visit! Peg is a great hostess, providing water and fruit each day. The room is very comfortable and the bathroom shower is heavenly. The location is just perfect for getting to downtown Mountain View, it's just two blocks away, so walking is a breeze.
I stayed here for a week while researching at Stanford and it was great. Peg is very friendly and gave great advice about the neighborhood. The room is spacious; the bathroom is very nice with marble details, etc. Her dogs are big sweeties, and reminded this fantasy-fiction fan of the dire wolfs from Game of Thrones/Song of Fire and Ice. I would rent from Peg again!
My parents had a great stay with Peg over the Christmas holidays. The room was exactly as advertised, except that it was slightly bigger than expected and that, according to my parents, the all natural cotton bedding made them sleep much better than their bed at home! Peg's breakfast is also an added bonus, delicious and nutritious. Peg is a wonderful host, warm and intelligent and a great conversationalist. Staying with Peg allows you to experience the best of Mountain View.
Peg made us feel very welcome in her delightful home just a minute walk away from Castro street in downtown Mountain View. Puff and Lady are beautiful dogs used to having people stay from all over the world and they too made us feel welcome. Our room was spotless with an exceptionally comfortable bed, private bath and a view onto the deck out back. Peg's knowledge of the Silicon Valley area and history is extensive and we found it very helpful. Last but not least, her gluten free coconut blueberry pancakes are to die for!
This was my first airbnb stay and it couldn't have been at a better place. Warm, inviting, and accommodating are the main attributes I would use to describe both the room / atmosphere and the host, Peg. Would definitely come back again.
I stayed 4 nights. Peg was very welcoming. Neighborhood is very safe and close walk to downtown Mountain View. Lots of free parking nearby. Room was clean with a private bathroom. The two large dogs were very friendly, but woke me up before my 7am alarm clock two mornings in a row. The first time was because one of them was thumping their paw on the floor while scratching and the second was due to barking.
My apologies about the premature alarms. If I had known after the first time, I would have tried to mitigate it.
As for the luggage rack suggestion: the folding tables do very well for that and many guests have done just that. unfortunately airbnb has redacted the website you point to!
Peg is an extremely gracious and helpful host. When I checked-in, the room & bath were squeaky clean and the bed was comfortably made. She always prepared breakfast promptly and genuinely made sure that I liked what she had cooked. Peg went out of her way to help me run a load of laundry even though our schedules mismatched. It was always entertaining to converse with her on diverse topics. She is astonishingly tech-savvy and very tuned-in to the latest and greatest developments in the tech world.
The room itself is quite spacious with its own private bath and a nice patio.
Her home is located extremely close to downtown Mountain View, yet offers a lot of piece and quiet ambience. So you have access to some of the nicest restaurants within walking distance as well as easy access to the Caltrain station. Completely eliminates the need to have a rental car.
