Hyde Park is one of the favorite neighborhoods in Austin. Most homes date from the 1920s and there are large established trees. The neighborhood contains Central Market North for gourmet groceries & Wheatsville food co-op for your hippie fix.
There are also many great restaurants such as VinoVino, Asti, Julio's, Uchiko, Tacodeli, Zen. In addition, it is just north of UT Campus.
The "Zen Cabin" is a tiny 180 sq ft hideaway & is perfect for one person. It is a serene, quiet space (heavily insulated soundproofing) right in the center of town: Hyde Park just north of UT. Walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants and grocery stores. 10 minute walk to UT. Bike distance to downtown.
There is a full bathroom and twin bed, and it is adjacent to a large garden with many seating options that are you are welcome to use. There is also an Ipod docking station for music.
I look forward to hosting you!

Tracy was quick to respond, accommodating, and a generous host. The Zen Cabin fit my needs perfectly: quiet, private, and just spacious enough. It was really lovely, and I would book again in a heart beat if I was back in Austin.
I loved staying in the Zen Cabin! Tracy was very communicative and understanding when flight delays caused me to arrive VERY late. She left the porch light on and the cabin was a wonderful place to arrive after a longer than expected day of travel. I loved the vibe, it is very clean, and it is close to tons of great places in Hyde Park. Definitely recommend for anyone traveling solo in Austin and looking for a great place to stay!
Tracy is very nice. Her cabin is a cute comfortable place to stay. It's in a good central location to everything in Austin.
The Zen Cabin was exactly as described: a quiet retreat in a residential neighborhood but within walking distance to the university and bus lines to downtown. It was in the thirties when I arrived and Tracy very generously picked me up from the train station and gave me a tour of the local area. There are some great vegetarian restaurants and the awesome Wheatsville Co-op nearby. The fridge was perfect for storing my breakfast and leftovers.
Tracy was also very flexible about my check-in/check-out times and generally a terrific and responsive host.
Tracy was a very gracious host. She was very responsive with all communication.
The cabin was clean and comfortable. Be sure to read the description as she does say that it's a fairly small space. Also there is no tv, but there is wifi.
Overall I enjoyed the entire experience and I would recommend the Zin Cabin to a friend.
The Tiny Zen Cabin was great! The bed is incredibly comfortable and the outside space is amazing. One note, which other reviewers did mention -- the wi-fi coverage out there is pretty weak - it was fine for my needs, but if you NEED the internet for important things keep it in mind.
Tracy was a great host. She even lent me a hairdryer when I realized I forgot one. I'll definitely recommend this place to anyone else I know traveling to Austin on their own.
This place is a great stay, nice neighborhood, lots of restaurants/grocery within walking distance. The cabin was very nicely decorated as well! Thanks Tracy!
Awesome location and super cute and comfortable cabin. Both the indoor and outdoor space are a good mix of tranquil and functional. Great launching pad to enjoy Austin.
Tracy was a perfect host. She was always very response to all of my communication.
Tracy was really a great host. Her place is also very nice. Good location. I really enjoyed staying at Tracy's place.
