A wonderful little retreat right in the middle of Austin. The cabin is only 180 sq ft but has everything you need. Twin bed with 400 thread count sheets, fine towels, coffee & tea setup. While very simple, it is about half the price of a hotel.
The "Zen Cabin" is a tiny 180 sq ft hideaway & is perfect for ONE person. It is a serene, quiet space (heavily insulated soundproofing) right in the center of town: Hyde Park just north of UT. There is a full bathroom and twin bed, and it is adjacent to a large garden with many seating options that are you are welcome to use. There is also an Ipod docking station for music.
I look forward to hosting you!

Please take advantage of the outdoor spaces: hammock, dining table, chairs, trampolene.
Interaction with Guests
It is always a treat to meet guests at checkin, visit with them in the garden or even share a glass of wine.
Sometimes, though, guests check themselves in & out with communications all by text. Although I miss meeting them in person, this method works remarkably well too.
I travel a good bit for work & fun, but if I am gone, there is always a "concierge" on site.
Hyde Park is one of the favorite neighborhoods in Austin. Most homes date from the 1920s and there are large established trees. The neighborhood contains Central Market North for gourmet groceries & Wheatsville food co-op for your hippie fix.
There are also many great restaurants such as VinoVino, Asti, Julio's, Uchiko, Tacodeli, Zen. In addition, it is just north of UT Campus.
Right on the #1 or #5 city bus routes or UT's free shuttle.
It is possible to walk to restuarants, shops & grocery stores. For getting further around town look into (website hidden)
From the airport: Supershuttle is @ $14 & is a shared ride with usually 2 other stops.
Taxi is @ $25-30.
There is a City bus 101 that costs only $1 but is slow. The route ends about 1/4 mile from here or you can connect to the 1 or 5.
Other Things to Note
What to expect.
We really want you to have a great stay & go out of our way to make it happen. But we are not a hotel, so there is more chance of unexpected things happening, both good & bad.
The nearest hotels are a Double Tree & La Quinta & the rooms cost twice as much. They are in the middle of government buildings with few nearby attractions.
The cabin is walkable to loads of fun things and is in a tree filled neighborhood.
However, with hotels you know exactly what you are getting & there are no surprises.
Make yourself at home!
* Please note that during the weekdays from 8-5 on street parking requires a permit. The off street parking spot may be more convenient.
* Please smoke outside only & kindly use an ashtray.
* Please feel free to use any of the outdoor spaces, including hammock, dining table & trampolene.
* There is a composting bin if you wish to use it, as well as recycling containers.
The Zeb Cabin is the perfect place for the solo traveler to Austin. It is easy to reach from I-35. It isn't a big place, but it has a nice bed, huge shower, mini-fridge, and everything else you need for a comfortable stay. There is also a large yard with a picnic table you can use. However, chances are you won't spend that much time at the cabin. You are just a short walk to the University of Texas as well as a dozen fantastic restaurants and bars. It is an easy bus ride to the downtown music scene. Enjoy.
The Cabin is perfect for someone traveling solo to Austin. It has everything you need -- a full, not cramped bathroom right inside, comfortable bed, WiFi, desk -- and is very conveniently located, especially if you want to be proximate to UT. The space is immaculately clean and a good size for one, not cramped. Check-in and -out were a breeze and everything went extremely smoothly.
Fantastic communication and very peaceful cabin. The cabin is meant for short encounters, since it is tiny, however, very well done.
Nice space in the heart of Austin, just as described. Perfect spot for a person to rest and unwind, close to many good eateries, and comes stocked with nice teas and coffees. Recommend for those coming to Austin in need of peace and quiet!
Tracy was very responsive throughout the process. She helped with a couple of requests that I made during my stay, and followed up later to make sure that everything was well.
The cabin is a wonderful little space. Exactly as pictured, small but with high vaulted ceilings and wooden beams. The place is clean and comfortable, and somehow just feels good. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood about a 10 minute Uber ride away from downtown. Uber consistently showed up in under 5 minutes.
Tap water tasted just a little odd, but apparently was perfectly safe.
Overall, best place you can have at this price point!
I would totally stay there again.
As soon as I booked the Tiny Zen Cabin, Tracy quickly emailed to let me know about best ways to reach the place from the airport. NICE. The cabin is just as pictured and in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood - very close to UT's campus. A "handbook" of sorts as to nearby (and good) restaurants, cafes and even a pharmacy is found within the cabin, also NICE. Our contact was very minimal once I arrived, which was just fine. Know that if you book this cabin, it is located within a fenced backyard and somewhat difficult to find. Once there, your stay will be worthwhile!
My mom stayed in the Tiny Zen Cabin and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We agree that both the Cabin and the surrounding patio area were beautifully decorated and maintained. I would definitely recommend the Tiny Zen Cabin to others looking for a low-key, comfortable, and affordable option for a visit to Austin!
