We could not have been happier with Peters house. It was impeccably clean and we are very fussy. We have travelled all over the world with Airbnb and Peters house is one of the best we have stayed in. The decor is lovely and well thought out, the house is so light and full of character. The restoration Peter has achieved is top notch. The location in Launceston is so central and surrounded by lovely houses. It is also quiet and peaceful . Our four year old also loved the house so I would say it is definitely child friendly as well as suiting the older traveller. Thank you Peter for sharing your beautiful home. Sam , Whayne and Kaitlyn ( hope we get to return )
Peter was the perfect host, he was super flexible with our arrival time and made us feel welcome from the start. The house itself was fantastic! Very well put together and luxurious. Perfect location with great views of the rest of Launceston, close to the city centre and all amenities. We couldn't ask for more and would definitely recommend staying here to anyone travelling to Launceston.
This review was written by my husband, who, along with his mother, stayed in Peter's cottage the first night after arriving in Tasmania.
If you want to have an inexpensive stay in a sturdily built, well-appointed colonial home (built in 1830) in Launceston, then I fully recommend Peter's cottage. The cottage is on a quiet street in a high position, and is furnished tastefully throughout (and very clean). All the rooms have high ceilings, and the living/dining/kitchen area is particularly well lit with natural light coming through the many windows. Peter was on hand to greet us and let us in. He told us about the history of his house, and how its appearance has changed over time. He left us some starter provisions in the fridge (milk, bread, etc) and in the kitchen (fruit, coffee, etc). One of Peter's immediate neighbours later welcomed my mother and me to Launceston (seeing us arrive back in our hire car after dinner), which made us feel both happy and guilty--for not staying longer! (At noon the next day we had to head off to Cradle Mountain where we had a two-night booking.) The only problem with Peter's cottage (and it wasn't much of a problem) is the fact that it faces west. The front verandah was too sun-drenched in the afternoon to spend much time on--the sun was too bright (although the warmth was welcome). All up though, a great place to call home during our brief visit.
The reservation was canceled 34 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Excellent. Under floor heating in the bathroom! Warm in other ways too: good tools in the kitchen, and brekkie waiting for us. Thanks so much, Peter.
A wonderful stay in a gorgeous house. The photos don't do it justice! Immaculately clean and amazingly well stocked (blankets, saucepans, glad wrap, laundry items, the list goes on!). It was a lovely surprise to have some breakfast items supplied also, a thoughtful touch. Perfect location very close to town with beautiful views. Peter was a great host, very helpful and flexible. Would absolutely stay again. My group of 4 travelers had a wonderful experience. Well done Peter.
