I have competed in Louisville Ironman (2008) and many triathlons, so I have detailed understanding of the course and the event. We have two bike trainers so no need to bring those. We also have additional bikes for any "spectators" that are coming with you that would like to easily get around the course. Oh and we have a vita mixer for all your smoothie needs! I am happy to recommend sports therapists or massage therapists.
If you have any questions about the area or festivities, we will be happy to help you in any way we can.
Laura is the kind of hostess that every Airbnb traveler would be lucky to have! Prior to our travel date, she was easy to communicate with and anxious to arrange or facilitate anything that would make this trip memorable for us. Her home is in a quiet neighborhood and the layout is everything we expected. It was super clean and neat too! The location was perfect for going to Churchill Downs, neighborhood hot spots, downtown, and convenient for grocery stores and restaurants. (She even made up a binder of notes, tips and directions)! Our group of 8 was looking for a comfortable home that would accommodate all of us for the Derby. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay.
We are treated as if we had know them for years. It was a warm & welcoming stay which made it feel like being at home. Close to everything & I would recommend to anyone staying in the Louisville area for a visit. I know we will be back at least 2 or 3 more times next year. Please take a look at this offering of their home. You will not be disappointed !
We were a group 8 going to the Derby for the first time and we had an amazing time. Laura and her house made this a great experience. The house was comfortable and clean and Laura was very thoughtful on the details: 1) There was a brand new grill on the porch that we used the first night 2) Laura provided us with water and snacks which was a really nice thought 3) It was raining that weekend and Laura provided umbrellas and ponchos for our group which we all appreciated 4) We stayed 2 nights and Laura had the house cleaned (much like a hotel) in between those 2 days. Everything was smooth and I would definitely recommend staying at this house - also, it is convenient to the derby and in a nice part of town with restaurants, shops etc.
