This is a fully self contained 2 bedroom apartment, centrally located in the lovely village of Port Douglas, North Queensland. There is off street parking and a pool within the complex. The apartment is tastefully furnished and available with just a few days notice. It is in a small quiet block of 8, usually inhabited by locals. This is not a holiday resort but the apartment is very comfortable and very close to everything in the village.
Just a 3 minute walk to the beautiful 4 Mile Beach and a 5 minute stroll to the centre of the village. Port Douglas has great restaurants and shopping and a laid back cafe scene. The beach is fabulous and a good 4 mile walk in the mornings!!

Interaction with Guests
This is a privately owned holiday apartment, no corporate agents here. I Personaly 'Meet and Greet' all guest on arrival and departure. I live 'off site' but am available 24/7 via, phone, text, or email for any issues. I can be 'on site' if necessary, in as little as 10 minutes. I like to give guests their space and will only attend at the apartment during your stay if you need assistance with an issue. Personal service and the space to enjoy your holiday.

If it is adventure you are seeking, Port Douglas is one of the closest ports to the Great Barrier Reef and people from all over the world come here to experience one of the Wonders of the World. Diving, fishing, swimming, hiking or just lounging around, this is the place to be for that Great Barrier Reef experience. The Marina Precinct is just a 5 minute walk to the end of the street.
Drive yourself or take one of the day tours to the Daintree Rainforest, another spectacular 'Must see' in this area.
Cairns and it's world class attractions are also within reach, just over an hour to drive yourself or choose one of the many day tours to Skyrail and Kuranda. Port Douglas is the perfect base.
Local Shuttle bus stops at the bus stop on the corner adjacent to the building. Sunpalm Transport airport shuttle will drop off/pick up at the apartment. Most tour companies will pick up either at the apartment or across the road at the Peppers Beach Club. The Marina, Macrossan Street and Fourmile Beach are all within walking distance, 5 minutes.
Off street undercover parking is available on-site.
Other Things to Note
This apartment is not airconditioned. There are good ceiling fans in the living area and both bedrooms and a portable pedestal fan is also provided. Aircon isn't necessary during the months of April to October as the climate is perfectly mild during these months. During the Summer months my guests find that the apartment is naturally cool and has good access to cooling breezes. The lovely quiet shared pool, available to my guests, is a perfect cooling option when returning home from a long day of sightseeing!!
Children under 12 years are to be supervised when swimming in the pool.
No cleaning fee is charged, however, on departure, the apartment must be left clean and tidy and all rubbish removed to the outside council bin. Please leave the apartment as you find it. A cleaning fee of $100AUD will be charged if property not left clean and tidy.
This is a residential apartment block and noise should be kept to a minimum late at night,
please consider the neighbours after 11pm.

Our sty at Julie's was great. She was there to meet us and provided us with a delicious snack including treats for our children. We enjoyed the pool everyday and were always the only ones there. The beach is close by and beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful week.
Julie is a delightful host! Helpful, informative but not intrusive. The apartment is clean and welcoming and in a great location.
We stayed at Castaways for 4 nights and had a great time. Julie gave us a really appreciated warm welcome and was really helpful before we arrived, suggesting the best transport and trips other guests had done. The appartment itself is really spacious and has everything you need and more.
Did a brilliant trip with Daintree Discovery Tours and lovely food at the Surf club at the end of the road.

Julie was delightful and most helpful. The apartment was as advertised and within walking distance of everything. Warning though for summer travelers: no air conditioning.
The listing clearly states that there is no airconditioning in the apartment so a 'warning' is not necessary. There are ceiling fans in all rooms and an extra pedestal fan is provided. There is good ventilation and windows to take advantage of any breeze. The fact that there is no aircon should not be a surprise to any guests on arrival as this info is in the listing.
Julie was very welcoming and the apartment was equipped with everything we needed.
The location is perfect for exploring Port Douglas, making the whole experience very relaxing and easy.
Julie was very accommodative about our late (1am arrival) and was even willing to stay up and meet us but we insisted on an alternative. Any questions (we had very few) were answered promptly.
The location of the apartment was absolutely perfect. It's a 2 minute walk to the stinger-protected beach and a 2 minute walk to town. Couldn't ask for a better spot. It was very cute and had all the necessary amenities including pretty fast wifi.
The only complaint, which I've already expressed to Julie and I think we were there for a period of extreme humidity do it should be taken under those circumstances, is that there is no air conditioning. There are plenty of fans but we had trouble sleeping two nights because of how hot and muggy it was.
Overall it was in a great spot and we were happy to stay there..
The place was perfect. 1 minute to the Main Street and 30 seconds to the beach. Julie was so wonderful and had chilled glasses and fizz awaiting our arrival. The place was clean, we had fresh towels to use and even a new fan in the kitchen.
