Wat Phra That Hariphunchai, Lampun (7 Kms from our place)

Sited in mid-town, Wat Phra That Hariphunchai was built during the reign of King Arthitayarat, a descendant of Queen Chamthewi some 800 years ago. A principal landmark is the 46-metre tall golden Chedi whose present appearance was the result of the restoration work in 1443 by a king of Chiang Mai. It has long been regarded as a major place of worship. Other architectural works include the ancient-style brick arch adorned with fine designs and the pair of sculptured lions at the door. There are also a square-shaped Chedi and a Khmer-style Buddha statue.

Wiang Kum Kam (30 mins by car from our place)

Wiang Kum Kam is an ancient city that was built in the reign of King Mengrai in 1286. The city was surrounded by ditches in every corner and they were used as reservoirs. From the discoveries, there are 20 ancient remains in and around Wiang Kum Kam include buildings and temples of Wat Chedi Liam, Wat Chang Kham, Wat Noi, Wat Pu Pia, Wat Ku Khao, Wat E Kang, Wat Hua Nong, and Wat Pu Song. The remains are dating from 21st –22nd Buddhist centuries.

And it's about 45 minutes by car to Night Safari & Ratchaphruek Garden!

Siri has sadly passed away recently, but her daughter and son in law, Opal and Max, continue to run the lovely homestay. They are wonderful hosts, and although speak only a little English, can still communicate with you. We were treated very well, with dinners full of local Thai food, and Max taking us on beautiful day trips to Lamphun and Chiang Mai mountain & waterfall. The location is also lovely and quiet, a nice break from Chiang Mai city. Thank you!

Opal was very nice and accommodating. I appreciate her very much. I enjoyed my bicycle ride into the city, and also when Opal took me to the market with her. As a solo traveler this location was too secluded for me, but it was no problem to change my reservation.

We had a great stay at the Siri's home! She was not there but her sister and husband took great care of us. They made breakfast for us in the morning and even drove us into town one day. The hut itself is very nice...cozy but plenty of space. Would definitely recommend!

Siri's place was situated on a lovely, quiet road outside of lamphun. We only spent 2 days there but I wanted to stay much longer. Our cozy little cottage was lovely and we had everything that we needed! The free use of the bicycles is an added bonus. We took a long bike ride around the area and met all of the lovely locals. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Siri but her daughter and brother were both lovely!

Sirikorn is a great host who helped us with traveling around, she also let us try some of her fresh tasty dragon fruit. She really is a gentle and lovely lady. Sirikorn's hut is in a very peaceful area, it was nice to get away from the congestion of the city. There's a bus that will take you to the city centre for cheap. The wifi is also really good, better than other places we've stayed in city centres. Plus free water and bicycles :)
