About this listing
Visiting friends, family, JSC students, skiing at Smuggs(25min)/Stowe(30min)/Jay(45min), or want to get the quintessential New England experience, please enjoy our home! Nestled between Johnson State College and downtown Johnson (5 min walk to both).
The house is a very special place for me and my family. Several family members contributed to the renovation and building of this home. The countertops were made from a maple tree my grandfather tapped for sap (to make maple syrup). You can see the tap holes in the wood and the long dark brown streaks the tap holes left. We also like to watch movies in style so we put in a 73" TV for your viewing pleasure. Sunsets are amazing. The house faces the mountains and there is nothing better than sipping a local microbrew while sitting next to the fire outside on the blue stone patio.
Full access other than a storage closet.
Interaction with guests
Yes, but we've tried to make things as self service as possible.
Home to Johnson State College, Vermont Studio Center, Butternut Mountain Farm (maple syrup), Johnson Woolen Factory, and a host of small businesses, Johnson is a thriving town in the middle of Vermont ski country. The town brings together a combination of small town New England charm, artistic ideals, and community philanthropy in a centralized downtown so you can easily enjoy all the the town has to offer.
Clean up after pets inside and outside. Recycle everything you can. Please support the local economy by spending some of your hard earned cash with local businesses.
