# Breakfast is through a $5 voucher per person, (in addition to the rent) for Etcetera Coffeehouse, a block away. Open 7:30 Mon.- Sat. and Sun. from 8am. Live music, poetry reading, stand-up, and high school artists gallery. Sculpture walk and labyrinth adjacent.

Guest Access

# Your apartment is completely private.
# Keyed private entrance and second padlocked side gate entrance from 7th street.
# We provide extra sheets and pillow cases for you to change. If you run out, leave the used in Char's gallery right outside your door for us to clean. We will not enter you apartment unless you are there.

Interaction with Guests

Our guests value their privacy and come with an agenda of places to go and see. We meet and greet them, tell them where all the switches are and leave them alone. We live upstair in a separate residence that they can call anytime.

The Neighborhood

# You are in the middle of the Lower Town Arts District, galleries, studios and shops are all around you. Some will be open, all will be open Second Saturdays of each month.
# 6 blocks from the Ohio River, Maiden Alley Art House Cinema, Market House Regional Community Theatre, River Discovery Center, William Clarke Market House Museum

# Public Bus Station one block away, down our back alley to the Station.
# Personal off-street parking access from North 8th street alley, next to entrance to our back yard, pond and your main entrance to the apartment.
#Paducah Airport is 20 minutes away.
# United Air flies from Chicago direct to Paducah twice a day and twice a day back to Chicago.
# Rental Car available at the airport (book in advance)
# A cab is available by phone (call when you land in Paducah).

Other Things to Note

# The Paducah School of Art & Design is a block away, down two back alleys.
# Paducah is where the Tennessee and the Ohio Rivers meet. 7 blocks away is the river and constant activity of the towboats moving barges 24/7

  • Char and Jay were very accessible with our arrival time (it changed because out baby didn't sleep well since she is teething). The space is very well set up and clean. They gave us a voucher for a cafeteria that is within walking distance, we had a great breakfast there! And real coffee!

(website hidden) Graduated from the University of Hawai’i, @ Manoa, Exhibited/traveled or visited/lived: all over the United States, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan, Australia, Guam, Europe Painted Murals in: Florida, California, Saipan, Hawai’i, Arizona, Kentucky Art teacher at college prep school, Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu, Hawai’i for 6 years. Three of those years, Fine Arts Department Chair with a faculty of seven. Taught art in the public high school in Saipan 1985-87 and Art Instructor teaching future teachers classes for the Northern Marianas College Public Information Officer for the Northern Mariana Islands Council for the Arts and Culture. 2004 moved to Paducah, KY with my husband Jay, from the San Francisco Bay area to be part of the Lower Town Artist Relocation Program. Work generally consists of mixed media. Images are both figurative and abstract. Work is neoexpressionist with a surreal slant. Subject matter is based on what is unseen or unspoken and strongly felt. Subjective content and voice of the work addresses human issues concerning this short earthly sojourn.
