This self-catering holiday rental home for 2/3 people is a romantic pied a terre, set in the warm and timeless historic centre of Modica in south eastern Sicily.
The house is small (approx 50 square metres) but well-equipped, and is especially suited to active holiday makers who will be spending most of their time out exploring the surrounding area and its attractions.
La Casetta is a renovated 300-year old cottage located on a medieval road in the historic centre of Modica Bassa. It has a full kitchen, dining area, sofa bed for extra guest (great for a child over eight) and bathroom with shower. Access to the loft bedroom is by a spiral staircase, where you have a comfortable king-size bed. Because of the steep staircase and open balustrades, we do not recommend this property for small children.
The property has reverse cycle air conditioning/heating so is great for stays at any time of year.
While there is no outside terrace, our great value-for-money price will allow you to spend time at any of Modica's pavement cafes and indulge in as much gelati and and aperativi as you like.
Nearby you have supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, boutiques and lots of historic sites to see.
In 2003 UNESCO added the city of Modica and the surrounding area to the World Heritage List for its baroque buildings and architectural design unique to this part of Sicily.
Modica has a lively local atmosphere, boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants and the true feel of laid-back Mediterranean life.

Longer day trips can be made to the Greek ruins of Agrigento, the Roman mosaics at Piazza Armerina, and Caltagirone, famous for its painted ceramics.
Guests have full private access to the property.

Modica has a harmonious feel, not too touristy but plenty of shops and amenities. It feels lived in but relaxed. The locals are friendly and helpful. The local fresh fruit and vegetables are amazing and plentiful.
There are buses and a few trains to nearby towns. You can hire electric bikes and cars in town. However, it is best to have a car if you want to see everything the area has to offer
Please make yourself at home, but no smoking inside. Thank you.
'Cosy' di nome e di fatto. C'era tutto quello di cui avevamo bisogno e ci siamo trovati bene. Comodo per visitare i dintorni e anche per andare al mare. Lo consigliamo.
Host accogliente, posizione buona a Modica, casa accoglente e perfetta per due persone.
We enjoyed very much Modica and la Casetta was the perfect place to allow us to visit it at full ease. La Casetta is a very nice tiny and cosy little house, perfectly organized to make your stay comfortable and smooth. We liked very much its location in a picturesque part of old Modica, very quiet and yet just steps away from the rather lively town center. Staying in Modica made it esay for us both to reach beautiful beaches thirty minutes drive away and to visit other Baroque towns in the area.
We really appreciated Katherine's help and tips that helped us to make the most of our stay also enjoying wonderful food in inexpensive restaurants.
