Interaction with Guests
I interact with guests as much as my guests like, depending on my schedule. This has ranged from having dinner out together to a run in the neighborhood to greeting my guests and then not seeing them again. Guests are invited to take my yoga class that I teach on Wednesdays at 5:30 at KamaDeva Yoga Studio.
The area is very quiet and secluded. You feel like you are in the deep woods although you are only a 5 drive from town.
A car is highly recommended. Biking is also quite fun.

I emailed ahead that I might be getting in earlier than the 3:00 check in and Judy invited me to go right ahead and explained where the key would be etc....this helped me so much! Her hospitality and helpfulness, as always in years previously has only gotten better...if that is even possible! The privacy of the separate entrance was great for me while coming and going at odd hours with the film festival and she has provided a small refrigerator in the large bathroom as well! It is very easy to get from her house to Main Street in the East Hamptons and I seldom run into traffic coming from that direction.
Judy was a most gracious host, as was Ted, her husband. We found the room quite suited to our needs, having come off of a day of biking from the ferry at Orient Point. With 2 wine glasses and a corkscrew for our use near the bed we loved this additional touch. We were able to store our bikes securely in the family’s garage. The site of the house is lovely-nestled in the woods of East Hampton. We stayed 2 nights. The room is near the rest of the house but quite private with its own entrance which proved helpful to us. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom enormous. We enjoyed the sounds of the busy and happy family and chatting with their 10 year old son. The accommodations were spare but clean (no chairs). Really picky folks might find that a little bleach and a toothbrush to the grout between the shower tiles would make them shine.
Judy's place is in a very quiet spot in the woods (super dark at night!!). It's clean and comfortable. There's a separate entrance via the garage so it's very private - and you have your own bathroom. The location at East Hampton is convenient to all the villagey Hamptons stuff (restaurants, shops, people watching) and an easy drive to the beach at Montauk. You need a car to get in and out unless you are prepared to shell out quite a bit for taxis. Phone reception can be patchy so if you're relying on your mobile for maps make sure you know the route before leaving the main road.
Judy was very welcoming into her home. Easy to talk to and fast to respond.
Room is comfortable and looks exactly like the pictures.
Great communication with Judy before the trip. We were welcomed by her husband Ted and only saw Judy briefly on our stay which was a shame as we were out and about most days, she was very friendly and welcoming when we did see her.
The house was as described in a lovely peaceful forest setting with an entrance to the room through the garage, the room is part of the main house though with a door opening into the downstairs area. As the bedrooms are on the ground floor and the house is wooden you can sometimes hear people moving about on the floor above.
The room was clean and a good size with a very comfortable bed, the shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure, the cubicle could do with a little refresh.
Found the maps and restaurant info placed in the room very helpful thank you! Also a good wifi connection which was handy for looking up info on places to visit. The pool looked lovely but the summer hadn't been hot enough to warm it up which was a shame.
We found the location very good for exploring the surrounding towns, all easily accessible. Thank you very much for having us to stay, we had a great time.
Great location!!! Judy is a great host. We had a wonderful time in her house. The room is super clean and comfy. We would definitely recommend it!!!

The three of us (me, partner, a 10 yr old) live here in what I think of as a treehouse. We have a live and let live attitude but are respectful and considerate of the fact our guests are vacation.
We recently went on a mostly vegan diet for health reasons so we now offer extremely wholesome but simple breakfast stuff.
We welcome guests who are neat, quiet and considerate.
We don't get to travel as much as we used to so love to do it vicariously through people we meet on Airbnb.
