The Space

This residence is built into a hill side. The private balcony overlooks Camarillo, the Santa Monica Mountains and boasts ocean views of the Channel Islands, Anacapa and Santa Cruz Islands. There is a private entrance to the room, which is equipped with wireless internet connection, television, luxurious king size bed, en-suite bathroom and large closet, small frig and microwave. If you want to cook you can have easy access to the main kitchen.

Places of interest within 45 minutes' drive include Universal Studios, Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive, Venice Beach, Hollywood Sign, Getty Villa, Malibu, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, local missions (San Buenaventura, Santa Barbara, Santa Ines, Los Olivos), Ronald Reagan Library, Air Force 1 Museum and Camarillo Premium Outlets (120 brand name shops, 8 mins away). Activities include ferries to Anacapa and Santa Cruz islands, kayaking around Anacapa, whale watching (when in season), surf beaches 20 minutes away, great biking and walking trails and much more.

Guest Access

House kitchen and barbeque if you want to cook a meal.

Interaction with Guests

Certainly available for any help or directions guests may need. We're a very friendly family and so guests are welcome to chat, relax and enjoy our company. Otherwise we respect their privacy.

The Neighborhood

We love the red tailed hawks that are constantly circling overhead, the soft hooting of owls in the early morning and occasionally the howl of kyotes in the hills behind the house.

Getting around

There is no local public transport available to our house. One guest used a bicycle, but it's quite a hill, he was very fit, car rental is easier.

  • I guess it is the best location in Camarillo. Camarillo is flat town and only few houses are situated on the top of hills. So view is utmost wonderful!
When after a long working day or an intensive trip you come home into your separate room and lay on a big bed, have a shower, sit on the chairs on the balcony - it is the top of the pleasure!
Hosts are very kind people and they provide you with everything you need - fridge, microwave oven, clear water, cream and so on.
The price is mere trifle for this palace. Definitely, the best place I have ever been.

  • This place turned out to be More than I expected, so Wonderful, Peaceful and in a Beautiful setting. Glen is accommodating and helpful. There was coffee and milk in the fridge. The bed is Comfortable and huge! I will Definitly return : )

One thing to know, there are lots of stairs so pack accordingly.

  • A wonderful private room with an incredible view. Glen was warm and friendly who described her household as "not private people" but has created a space that is. It was not a bother to me but anyone considering staying at this hillside home needs to understand there is foot traffic noise overhead during the day yet very quiet at night.
I was able to relax, get a little work done and enjoy the lights of Camarillo below at night.

  • We stayed with Glen and Duncan for a week and had a wonderful time in their beautiful studio. The views are spectacular, as is the warm welcome and helpfulness.

  • Glen was an excellent host! We arrived late on a Thursday night, and she was very accommodating. The space is essentially a self-contained apartment with a private balcony overlooking Camarillo (beautiful view!). There is a full kitchen, bathroom, king bed, etc. Even though it's located in the hills, it's a pretty short drive (5 minutes or so) to get to the center of town. We stayed for a wedding in Camarillo, but also visited Malibu and Ventura. Both were easily within driving distance. All in all, Glen's place is pretty ideal for two people visiting the area, and I would definitely recommend it.

  • Glen was an awesome host. She was very welcoming and easy going. The place was super clean and the location was amazing. The location is also very safe, quiet in the evenings and only 5-10 min from the 101 freeway. The apartment was located in the Camarillo heights, overlooking the city and the mountains, with a some ocean view on clear days. Everything I needed was there, small kitchen, cooking ware, cable TV, washer/dryer. I definitely recommend that you stay here if you are looking for a place to stay in Ventura county.

  • Glen and Duncan were amazing hosts. Even though I got there so late, Glen welcomed us with cheer and joy! The place itself was secluded and fantastic. Great space and a gorgeous view. Absolutely will look her up in the near future whenever I visit! Bless you both.
