The Space

Greetings! This is my modern,1-bedroom apartment in the Central Business District (CBD) of New Orleans. It is one of 3 units in a building recently featured in the New Orleans' Times Picayune as a Historical Landmark.

Located 3 blocks from the Superdome and one street off of Canal Street, this space on the fringe of the French Quarter is ideal for a short or extended stay in the creole city.

The space itself includes a full kitchen with all new appliances, 1 bedroom, 1 bathrooms, two balconies (one that's entirely private), four fireplaces, washer/dryer, and a cozy living room. :)

One block from the Canal Streetcar and directly on the bus route, this location is optimal for accessing the city's local transportation and is a mere 4 block walk from the French Quarter. It is also located next to one of the city's best local lounges (Handsome Willy's) and a fantastic local pizzeria.

It's also ideal for Mardi Gras routes and JazzFest. Accompanies 2 comfortably. Could do three, depending on sleeping preferences! (couch or air mattress).

Lastly --- there is a TV that can be used for DVD viewing - but I recently decided to get rid of Cable. Just too much to do with my time and when I have TV as an option?! I am glued! Going back to old school. :)

  • Emily was an AMAZING host! She detailed everything in an e-mail she promptly sent to me before leaving for New Orleans. The apartment was easy to find, and the free parking was a plus. Her apartment was decorated in such a visually appeasing way! The apartment was clean and centrally located to everything we wanted to check out in New Orleans. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Emily's flat is wonderful. It was perfect for our needs, within walking distance of the French Quarter and very clean. The place is really cozy and feels authentic - we felt like we got a real New Orleans experience that we couldn't get in a hotel.

  • Emily was a fantastic first Airbnb host! The warmth and charm of her apartment match her (website hidden) and chocolate (the way to my heart) were awaiting me when I arrived with French Press coffee available in the morning. She is located a walkable distance from transport and tourist sites alike. She was available for any questions that I had about her apartment or New Orleans and I would recommend this site to those looking to experience a more real side of New Orleans, not just the hotel and tourist side.

  • Stayed three nights in Emily's comfortable, clean, charming home. Loved having balconies - especially because the weather was perfect. We didn't have a car, but enjoyed walking everywhere. Otherwise, it's located a stones throw from the Canal street car or the bus to the airport. Save cab fare!

  • What a great stay we had in NOLA! Emily's aparment was great-- Walking distance to everything, very cute and offered plenty of space. I would definitely stay here on my next trip to New Orleans.

Emily was easy to get in touch with and offered a ton of recommendations!

  • My girlfriend and I had a great experience staying at Emily's apartment this January. The apartment is large, very clean, and well decorated. Fun porch area to sit outside and have a drink. Big picnic style table inside to eat or work at. Washer/Dryer in the apartment is very convenient. Quick walk to the French Quarter. The only caveats are for the late sleeper or light sleeper: you will get some sirens through the night (proximity to the hospital) and the windows that let in great light during the day may be what wakes you in the morning. If these things are not an issue for you, then you'll have a great experience in this apartment. Emily was friendly and responsive. Thanks so much for the great stay, Emily!

  • Emily's charming apartment was perfect for my too-brief first visit to New Orleans. The place was both stylish and cozy, with cool furnishings and quality amenities. Finding the place was easy arriving via highway, and as one who prefers to explore by foot I just left my car parked close by, finding sightseeing very easy and convenient, hitting the classic touristy sights/sites. Emily was a great host and accessible for any questions (though I didn't really need to get in touch). Would recommend her place without hesitation.

  • This is a beautiful apartment, Emily has decorated the place in a such a way that it has a laid back, bohemian vibe. It is a spacious unit on the 2nd floor of a historic building. The bedroom is separated from the living/kitchen area by a door. You will love this space, it is clean and has all the amenities you need. Just outside her apartment, there are Canal St trams that'll take you to the French Quarter.
While I didn't get to meet Emily, communication with her was prompt and she also left some local beer in the fridge for us!

It is very near the Superdome, Tulane hospital and a firestation. For those who are light sleepers, this may be in issue, as the emergency vehicles (ambulance/firetrucks) do sound their sirens at all times of the day.

  • I am from New Orleans and I can say without a doubt that this place is a perfect vacation rental! It is convenient to downtown, the French Quarter, the Superdome, and the Warehouse District. It is also convenient to the streetcar and the buses. The space itself is clean, comfortable and has all the amenities you would need on your visit. Plus, you can't beat the price. Emily is incredibly responsive and very friendly. She also welcomes you with a six pack of local brew! What more could you want? I would highly recommend this location and will likely stay here again when I head to New Orleans.
