Along Kiwengwa beach you'll find also a nice variety of restaurants and few bars, all in walking distance.
Mafarasi is also a good starting point for those brave that prefers local transports, "DalaDala", to comfortable taxi.
Other Things to Note
Together we realized our dream project! We built 4 houses - built them with passion and love, tracing and designing every piece, from foundation to roof, from staircases to the interior decorations...we took care of each plant, each flower...and finally watched the making of our lush garden.
We will be there to welcome you and to help you settle in without being intrusive. If you wish we will be on hand with tips and advice and recommendations as we just want to share our love of Zanzibar with you.
We would appreciate if you treat our place with the same care and respect you give to your own house.
We kindly ask to do a conscientious use of water and electricity.
Our towels can NOT be used as beach towels NOR as pool towels.
Towels and bed linens will be changed upon request free of charge.
Everything was very nice, clear instructions how to reach the place. House was a little to big for just two of us but cant complain about:)
thanks for your review! Hope you had a good time in Zanzibar!
Yes, Casa Habari is actually perfect for 4-6 guests... unfortunatelly when you booked the smaller apartments, Casa Mambo & Casa Vipi were booked already... those indeed are perfect for couples!
Dear Victor and family!
Thanks for your review!
Zanzibar is a pretty humid and hot country, that's why we realized our buildings with big Windows, so that the breeze could refresh the rooms... we are sorry to hear that you've been disturbed from the animals... Zanzibar, though very touristic is still pretty wild and cows, roosters and goats, not the less monkeys and bushbabies are free to go all around, and yes, they can be loud sometime.
We are also sorry for the groceries not organized prior arrival, but honestly, we haven't received your email, but no problem on our email box was detected as all other corrispondence was on regularly. In any case, after realizing that you tried to send us an order, we did our best to organizing it in the quickest time possible.
Hope your Mom had a good 60th birthday and that she liked our gift!
All the best,
Carola & Mado
Mado & Carola are more than just apartment owners.
I was chatting with Carola way before my trip has started, and she answered every question I had about Zanzibar and even planned our trip-plan day-by-day.
The apartment is carefully decorated and really beautiful - we were really amazed and had the best time there. The balcony is huge, the rooms are super modern, big, clean & cozy and there was everything we needed right in the apartment.
The beach is so close you can just chill there the whole day...good restaurants in the area and of course the beach looks really nice.
They give services like laundry & food delivery, basically everything you may need for your stay!
Mado helped us in the daily trips, telling us what to do and what not to do, he even went personally to a restaurant in the city to book us a dinner.
We liked our stay @ Kamili View so much and we recommend it to all! it's so important to find hosts you can trust...Mado & Carola are the best hosts we had :)
We had stayed in Kamili view for 5 days. The house was well decorated with good taste and the famiily was very welcoming.
We did not enjoy the walk to the beach, it was not long but, every morning, it was not pleasant to pass through.
We had other small issues but Carola had managed all right overall.
thanks for your review...
as told you during your staying the walk down to the beach is crossing part of the local village which, like many other not rich countries, is not properly clean. We do our best to clean up the area but it's not Always easy.
Carola and Mado are absolutely fantastic hosts. They are both very knowledgeable of the area and all opportunities to have fun in Kiwengwa. Carola was sure to answer all questions I had regarding transportation and logistics before and while my friends and I stayed at the house which really provided us a peace of mind. When we arrived, we had provided Carola some of our interests and asked her what recommendations she had for us. I would highly recommend you do this as Carola is a great resource and will not steer you wrong! The one thing you MUST do while staying at Kamila View is have Carola make a reservation for the $25 seafood barbecue dinner at Juma restaurant on the beach. Everyone in my party agreed that it was one of the best meals any one of us had ever had and for that price, it just could not be beat! Additionally, when we had issues with the gas stove, Carola quickly had someone fix the issue and when we returned from a day at the beach, she had also given us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience! We were all very appreciative of how helpful Carola and Mado were during our stay!
Regarding the house, the property is absolutely beautiful and clean like no other. You can really tell the effort and pride Carola and Mado have in building and decorating their properties. Additionally, in terms of distance from the beach, it cannot be beat (only ~200m from it), there are also a basic small market nearby should you need to buy eggs, fruit, other necessities for your stay. One thing of note though, the path down to the beach may be a bit challenging for people who may be less physically abled. While it is close to the beachfront, there is a bit of a rough terrain getting there, which is compounded at night time if the moon is not shining brightly (bring a flashlight or phone to light up the path). A final recommendation, be sure to catch the beach during low tide both during the daytime and night. It is a breathtaking sight that cannot be missed if you are staying here.
All in all, I highly recommend staying at any of the Kamili View properties with Carola and Mado!
ve were quite happy with the reviews received so far, but this is just super!!!
Thank you so much for supporting us!!! We are really happy that you enjoyed your stay and our suggestions! I like talking with our guests, and Mado loves having the control of the manteinance and all practical issue... we are a good team! And it's so nice to know that our little effort can have such a good impact!!
Juma Restaurant is our favorite too... that's why we reccomand it! We will bring your words down to the restaurant staff, they will be happy!!
Carola & Mado
The place was great!! Very clean. Comfortable. The beach near by is nice but you will get hounded by locals trying to sell. It us unpleasant. No fault of owners though.
thanks for your review!!
True that boys down to the beach are a bit pressy,
though unconfortable sometime, they usually give up after first or second day... when they start reconizing the guests. Most of the time having a short chat with them and polite greetings is enough to keep them away.
Unfortunatelly you only stayed 3 days and went down to Kiwengwa beach once or twice only, other wise you could notice the big difference in the boys behaviour.
Hope this can be a tip for your next visit :-))
Mado & Carola
We stayed 10 days in casa Habari. The house is just perfect! The place is way bigger than on the pictures. The environment is ok, maybe not ideal for little kids and definitely not for disabled persons as you have to walk a quite rough road to get to the beach. However the beach is close and we actually liked the walk because you get trough the little village. If you want to visit whole Zanzibar I would say stay at different places on the island, that way you also save money on the taxi :) But surely pass by Carola and Mado! They know how to host! You will be definitely in good hands.
Thanks for supporting us with a nice review! We are happy to hear that you had a good time with us!!
True, our place is not designed for disabled... it's pretty hard to find in Zanzibar good places for them, maybe few resorts...
but about kids we disagree, we have 2 small kids and planning to get another one hopfully! we personally find our place and the environment in general very kids friendly :-))
Give our regards to your boyfriend and brothers!
Hope to see you again!

About the Host, Carola & Mado
Carola... I was born in Florence, Italy. I started to work in the hotel industry when I was 20. One day I had the pleasure of a contract in Zanzibar and I fell in love with the island. I moved permanently in Zanzibar in 2006 with lots of dreams and nice energy. Mado... I was born and grown up in Kiwengwa, Zanzibar. When I was 24 I got the chance to work for a big italian resort where I've been for 13 years, there I learned about watersports, relating with guests and most of all my english and italian!
Our life together started in 2006 and today we enjoy the happy company of our two children. Our dreams is to create a space where people can stay without feeling as a tourist. Our apartments have been belt thinking about the pleasure of feeling like at home and to give our guests the chance to get deeper into the zanzibari life... we will be dilighted to be your hosts and guides!
Carola...
