I don't think after all these other reviews there is anything to add. You will probably never find a better, more caring host. And if you undecided between a place closer to berkeley or this place, stop thinking about it and take this place. You won't regret it.

Lana is simply the best host you can imagine! Her place is very cosy and she makes you feel welcome right away. I spent four months at her house in Richmond and had a wonderful time with her and my housemates. We often met in the kitchen, had breakfast or dinner together and talked a lot. Lana has been living in Richmond for many years and she can recommend all kinds of things to do and places to go. She is very generous and helps you with whatever and whenever she can. Many of her former residents love to come back and visit and I met a couple of them while I was there. I hope I will soon be able to come back on a visit, too!

Lana is just the sweetest and most hospitable person. She really is/becomes more of a friend than a host during your stay. She helps you out and is genuinely caring while also fully respecting your privacy. Hers is a warm, safe, comfortable home and staying there was a very positive experience indeed. Truly recommended! PS - If you're a student at Berkeley, this is probably the ideal accommodation. Close, and very affordable.

Lana was a very welcoming host. I felt right at home the second I arrived. She supplies breakfast and often has treats and other goodies out for her guest. At Lana's house you don't feel like you are renting a room, but have been living with her forever. She's very sweet, kind, and is always a great conversationalist. I originally scheduled my stay to be 6 months, but left after a month because I found an apartment in the same price range closer to my work. Lana was very kind in letting me break my lease early and even prove me to the BART station when I moved out. I would have loved to have stayed longer!

Lana picked me up from the BART subway when I arrived. I was immediately introduced to the area on the drive home, and she took the time to drive me around Richmond to all her favorite spots. That was a pleasure. The room is small and comfortable. The pictures are accurate. There is a private entry and lots of nice plants around the patio. Stay at this place because Lana is here. She makes it a home. I couldn't have seen myself enjoying Richmond nearly as much without her company. She knows how to make the most of the local area!

Lana welcomed me so warmly into her charming, beautiful home. Lana's friendly, open, positive nature left such an incredible impression on me, she made my experience in California extra special by showing me such wonderful hospitality. The house is homely and inviting, a perfect oasis from busy city life. The rooms were adorned with fresh flowers from the garden and the garden itself is so precious with Lana's choice of flowers enticing, especially, the hummingbirds! Lana works tirelessly (and always with a smile) to keep the house running, breakfast was always great! The kitchen was stocked with things that I enjoyed and Lana hosted dinners occasionally which left me with great memories of the laughter, fun stories and good food we shared! Lana made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Lana's knowledge of California made discovering it all the more enjoyable and interesting while her involvement in local activities gave me fresh perspectives on community life. She was ready to help when any issue came up and I am so grateful for her efforts, she really went the extra mile every time. I loved every minute living at Lana's and will treasure the memories and our friendship.

Lana was a wonderful host. She is upbeat, positive and vivacious. I enjoyed her positive attitude. I felt very much at ease in the beautiful house which is in a safe and quite neighborhood. My room felt comfortable and private. There was always fruit and snacks available in the kitchen along with tea and coffee. Lana and I had a few very enjoyable visits at the kitchen table over morning coffee or evening tea. I enjoyed a great home cooked meal one night with her and another younger guest who was great to visit with. I felt as if I were at home. We both teach art to kids and teens so that was a pleasant surprise! I will most certainly be contacting her again next time I visit the Bay Area. This was my first airbnb experience and it was perfect! It has inspired me to do the same in my home.

I am a retired teacher and am involved in grass root community activities. I enjoy living here in the SF Bay Area where there's always something new to do. In fact, I even conduct tours for teens around the city's "green places", focusing on environmental actions and career awareness adventures, in partnership with the community college, city hall and our local national and regional parks. I am passionate about the community and love to invite my guests to explore with me.

I have lived in my home for 40 years so I know the area well. The local indoor swimming pool, the nearby fitness center, the shopping and the neighborhood art center are my favorite places to be. Come join me and meet the neighbors or ask for directions and I'll be glad to tell you about the local goings-on.

I do enjoy cooking and baking and frequently prepare dishes to share with my guests. Of course I can also introduce you to the local shops and wonderful local restaurants of every ethnicity. Being so close to Berkeley and San Francisco means that you can find everything you can think of to buy and wonderful entertainment and adventures. At my Airbnb, we have our own International House and sometimes host dinner parties for close-by AirBnBs to join us. We enjoy lively discussions in the kitchen around the breakfast table and respect the privacy of guests who prefer to eat in their rooms. We have blocked off the streets for community barbecues and at the same time, have quiet rooms, surrounded by a church and a meditation garden with lots of hummingbirds and flowers. You are welcome to join me in the garden - relaxing or gardening. We get plenty of bird nests in the Spring.

There's a piano and a guitar and sheet music for fellow musicians if you care to entertain. You may even host your own dinner party in the dining room. Just let me know. I especially enjoy long-term guests. Some have stayed up to 18 months and we frequently invite former guests to join us for holiday meals and celebrations. Come make new friends here in Richmond, California.
