Carmen and Marek were amazing hosts. Right from picking us up at the airport, our stay with them was very comfortable and enjoyable. We ended up getting along really well and really enjoyed sharing cultural differences between Canada & Mexico. Waking up to fresh fruit & coffee was an unexpected delight. The location is walking distance to the ferry for Puerto Morales. The room has a very comfortable bed and was equipped with A/C and blinds. Hanging out with their dogs was great. Marek works at the airport so he helped with any questions and Carmen is a talented artisan and cook, both unexpected perks.
Carmen was very helpful before our arrival in accommodating a short stay and an early check in. We had a wonderful day at her place and a very comfortable sleep. The apartment is a short walk to the ferry to Isla Mujeres in a cute family neighbourhood. She was incredibly generous with drinks and food, including a delicious breakfast in the morning. Thanks for everything, it was a great first night in Mexico.
Marek & Carmen were very lovely hosts. They were very generous and nice people. They gave us a lot of information on things to do, sights to see and what to eat and where. We were very well taken care of. If you are going there by taxi, make sure to show the driver the location on a map. It shouldn't be that hard to find, but our taxi driver had some difficuties (or pretended to). It's close to the ferry to Isla Mujeres, just a short walk. Our staying here was a pleasure.
My girl friend and I had a great say at Marked & Carmen. They served us ceviche the night we arrived, and we sat up chatting for a long time. They were very friend and helpfull, and fun people to get to know. The apartment is conveniently located close to the ferry port for Isla Mujeres, and with R1/R2 busses running to the Hotel Zone from just across the road.
I stayed with Marek & Carmen for five days. They are nice hosts, show me the map to Playa Del Carmen and nearby bus station. The apartment is small but nice. It is in the downtown area, 25 piso taxi to ADO bus station. It is a safe place.
Carmen and Marek picked my up at Cancun airport, which I was very grateful for after such a long journey. They were really the best of hosts, showed me a lot around, above all places that you would never find on your own, they answered all my questions, cooked nice food, etc, etc. They are fun and interesting to be with and their dogs, Polka and Brno, are great personalities as well. They speak English well - not the dogs - but Carmen and Marek do. The pictures tell the truth about the flat; it is not big, but has what you need and the bed is good. You walk pretty easily from there to the ferry to Isla Mujeres or you can go to town with local buses. I can only recommend this "artsy flat" and all who are living there!
We had a lovely stay with Marek and Carmen. We stayed 3 nights in Feb 2014, they were excellent hosts. They welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like we were part of the family. They offered great advice about what to see there and to eat in around Cancun. We can't wait to return to Cancun!
We are very grateful for this experience that we will never forget.
With our most sincere gratitude
