Staying at Giacomo's flat in Rome was a wonderful experience all around. The unit itself is as described: nice and clean, newly remodeled, and the perfect amount of space for 1 or 2 people. The bathroom was great, the kitchen gave us everything we needed, the living room couch was very nice, and the air conditioning was an absolute life saver during 100 degree summer days in Rome. The bed was also super comfortable, plus the black out shutters helped give us some of the best rest we had throughout our vacation. You actually need to be careful, otherwise you'll sleep through your time in Rome!
The location was great as well. It is in a tourist heavy part of town, but it's on a side street so not many tourists walk by. Every shop you can imagine, from budget to luxury, is just a block or two away, plus there are numerous dining options. It's also only about a 30-40 minute walk down to the Colosseum, which may seem like a lot until you realize Rome is a walking city and nothing is that easy to get to, at least not in the summer heat. While it's close to the Spanish Steps tube entrance, we found that we used our feet and cabs far more than the metro or the stuffed buses. This flat's location gives you good foot access to lots of historical attractions, plus you can catch cabs easily in the neighborhood.
One of the more interesting features was the wifi was actually a mobile hotspot. For our week long stay, we did have one day where it didn't work well and it was a bit frustrating. However, it worked well the other days and being able to take it out with us when we were walking around the city was incredibly handy. Citymapper/TripAdvisor + mobile wifi = vacation heaven.
Giacomo was also a brilliant host. He met with us late in the evening after our arrival was delayed and welcomed us with a chilled bottle of wine. He also spent a few minutes with us giving us a detailed description of the neighborhood and numerous pointers on what to see, where to shop, and where to eat. To top it all off, he helped us get to the airport in the early morning hours by coordinating transportation through a service he uses personally.
I would absolutely recommend staying with Giacomo to anyone visiting Rome. Thanks for the hospitality!
The apartment is exactly as described and is a perfect base for exploring all that Rome has to offer - we walked everywhere with our 5yo, including the Vatican and Colosseum (although we needed to take the Metro home, that was easy and accessible). Given its proximity to tourist hotspots, it is surprisingly quiet and is very safe. Giacomo is a generous and attentive host, readily sharing his knowledge and offering advice about things to see and do that were tailored to our interests. We highly recommend this apartment!
Giacomo was an amazing host for our stay in Rome. Our flight was delayed and we ended up arriving much later than originally discussed but he waited for us and made us feel right at home. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants + sites around the city. The apartment is just as described and as the photos suggest- I would highly recommend this unit to anyone visiting Rome!
the appartment is located close to Spanish steps and plazza poppolo in a very nice neighborhood with many nice cafés and restaurants. Its VERY clean and is exactly as described in the ad. Giacomo was really nice, he gave us lots of very useful tips. It is a great value for money and i highly recommend this appartment to stay in Rome.
This is a great apartment in a good area of Rome. nearer to the shopping strip, rather than the tourist venues. Giacomo was a very good host assisting us where he could. There was an issue with the main TV and this was replaced. The apartment is well set out with lots of travel books on Rome. There is no self service laundry facilities within close proximity to the apartment and laundry was expensive in the nearby street.
It was our first experience with BNB . Everything was as it was announced . Giacomo is a very warm and friendly person . Your help in our first visit to Rome really was a great added value. I strongly recommend renting this apartment with Giacomo as a host.
