Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Nestled amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Mount Hood National Forest. Alpine Ascent is located in the historic 1950’s SkiWay tram building- now named the Thunderhead Lodge. Converted to condominiums in the 1980’s Alpine Ascent’s second floor location has been fully remodeled, this year. Despite its petite size, this unit offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, thoughtfully curated to provide a relaxing retreat.

The space
The interior is adorned with custom furnishings, embracing a minimalist yet charming aesthetic. Soft, natural materials and warm lighting contribute to the overall ambiance, creating a tranquil and welcoming space. Large windows offer breathtaking views of the majestic mountains, including the rugged bowls of Ski Bowl Ski Resort and the sunset. The sliding door accessed deck allows guests to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature while wrapped in comfort, overlooking the geo-thermally heated pool, heated year round to an extra warm, hot bath like, relaxing temperature though winter. In summer it holds a cooler temp.
**If the temperature of the pool is important to you, please ask me. Due to it being geo-thermal and outdoors, the temperature can fluctuate; especially seasonally.

THE SPACE
Bedrooms/ Bath
This petite unit features one large sized King Bed master bedroom with custom designed and built headboard and side tables. The mattress is heaven. The Purple mattress will have you feeling like sleeping on a cloud after a day of adventure, or just to kick back with a book. The room has plenty of storage for your bags and shoes within its large closet. Also featured is a desk where you can comfortably enjoy the fiber wi-fi connection, while you admire the mountain views.

The bunk room is custom built for comfort within a small space. It has a twin sized upper bunk with a memory foam topped bunk mattress. The bottom bunk is a double bed with the same comfortable sleeping. There is a window to the trees and plenty of conveniences to keep it tidy- lots of hooks and shelves and spaces to store luggage.

There is one bathroom in the unit featuring a bathtub/shower and plenty of soft towels, and a heat lamp to keep you cozy.

Facility
The building includes outdoor parking just off the Government Camp Loop: pull straight in to the front of the building. The two entrances to the building to the unit include sets of stairs, there is no elevator. Entering from the back of the building allows the best direct access to the unit.

Kitchen
As coffee snobs, true to life in the NW, we provide a Fellow burr grinder for you to use on those fresh beans you’ve picked up on your way. Local Heart Roasters being our favorite, but you can’t go wrong with Stumptown!

The lodge offers a community space with a pool table and foosball. Also a waxing room and ski storage area on the lower floor of the building are accessible straight from parking and also from the interior of the building through the main lobby.
The gated and code accessed geo- thermal pool should be covered when not in use (only in winter). A simple cover can be rolled back or rolled out after you have enjoyed the warm waters. Particularly enjoyable in the evenings under the stars and mountain peaks in the rising steam. Pool towels are provided within the unit, as well as beverage containers that aren’t glass.

Guest access
The entire cozy unit will be for your use during your stay, including balcony, heated pool, community space with pool table and foosball, building’s laundry room and wax room.

Hello, My husband and I are well traveled and conscientious parents of two happy boys. We are usually traveling to visit family. We keep a nice clean home in Portland. We enjoy a lot of physical activities indoor and out. I love the mountains and snow the most. We would love the chance to be a part of the Airbnb community.
