Interaction with Guests
I love getting to know my guests as I find everybody interesting so whenever I'm not working and my guests not rushing, I love catching up and 'shooting the breeze'.
The relax atmosphere of Hilo and the aloha spirit is prevalent everywhere here.
There is a public bus called Hale-on that goes around the island and costs only $2.00 per ride anywhere but you'll still want a rental car to really get to see and experience the island. It's appropriately $20.00 from Hilo airport to my house.
A rental car is still the ideal way to explore the island at your own convenience and pace.
Other Things to Note
Just to be clear, this is my home that I live in that I'm sharing with guests by renting out two rooms via air b&b and have thoroughly enjoyed guests from all over the world. Looking forward to sharing my space and my blessings with you !:)
Considerate and respectful to others.
Please let us know ahead of time when to expect your arrival so you won't be left waiting for us to check you in.
Here in Hawaii leaving your shoes outside is pretty much a general house rule.
About the Host, Diana
I moved to the Big Island in 1993 from Guam and had remained mesmerized by its natural beauty and loved the laid back lifestyle it provides. I'm originally from the Micronesian Island of Yap, known for its pristine water, manta ray dives and its colorful and spirited bamboo war dance performed by bare chested natives in lion clothes and grass skirts.
I embrace cultural diversity and truly enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. I take pride in my house and the service that I provide my guests. I value my precious 'free' time by sneaking in sporadic reading here and there and enjoying the outdoors; camping, hiking, swimming and gardening, but most of all, I love traveling and looking forward to seeing a lot more of this amazing world we live in and experience different cultures along the way.
Always striving for a balanced lifestyle: healthy living via heath conscious cooking, keeping physically active, and inner peace and serenity. I look forward to meeting you and I'm excited to host another amazing adventurous soul seeking to experience Hawaii!
