With sweeping views of the Tomales Bay and Pt. Reyes National Park this little gem was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco. We enjoyed watching the tide come in an out along with an array of birds, ducks and even a sea otter! The living room hosts four floor-to-cieling windows and—my personal favorite—a wood-burning fireplace. Nancy and Robert were wonderful to work with and were quick to respond with any questions or concerns. We look forward to visiting again soon!
We enjoyed our stay at Raspberry House so much! Rob was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. The hot-tub was a plus and the views were amazing. The house was very cozy too. We also enjoyed being so close to Point Reyes Seashore. We also had an amazing dinner at Station House Cafe. Oh, and the gardens in the front yard were lovely as well. So much to appreciate about this place!
Amazing house with really the best views I've seen in a long time. I'd go back again just for that. The place was clean, spacious, and had all the tools we needed to make it our home.
We had a wonderful stay at the Raspberry House over the New Years holiday. Our days were filled with breathtaking hikes at the nearby Point Reyes National Park, and evenings spent on the porch watching the sunset over Tomales Bay (while shucking fresh oysters from Hog Island Oyster Co, just a short walk away).
We were able to take advantage of the full kitchen and fairly extensive cooking supplies to prepare meals (which we enjoyed in front of the fire stove). The house itself was comfortable and cozy, and the views from the living room, sun room and kitchen were absolutely unbeatable. A big thanks to Rob and Nancy who made our New Years holiday unforgettable!
Amazing view -- you feel like you are on a boat. Very quiet and peaceful. Even though it is right off the road you don't hear the cars. We happened to meet Rob upon our arrival and he was very nice and helpful. If you are planning your trip for winter, consider bringing an extra space heater or ask for one - the bedroom gets chilly at night.
Stephanie and family were delightful to meet. We appreciate her feedback.
This is the first time a guest has found the available bedroom heater to be lacking. Due to her comment, we've taken steps to improve the heat capacity in the bedroom.
Also, just a few steps from the bedroom is a large and effective gas space heater in the living room that heats the whole house, including the bedroom if it's door is left open.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Great location, just the right distance from Point Reyes Station. We were surprised by how big and spacious the property was. Highly recommend and hope to return.
Raspberry House was a lot of fun and really beautiful. I stayed there with my parents and we all enjoyed it. Although we used it as a base for exploring wine country, I think its better suited for plain old relaxation. The deck was inviting and the interior very cozy. I think it would be great for all seasons and all types of people. Lots of great local food and wine is available very nearby. Will definitely stay there again if the occasion arises.
What an amazing experience to stay in Raspberry House! The views could not be more epic. From the living room, the sun room, and the deck, you feel like you are floating over the water. We spent hours on the deck listening to the waves, watching the birds, and tracking the subtle changes in the tides and light and fog. I brought books to read, but hardly cracked them. They couldn't compete with the view.
Nancy was a gracious host, and made everything comfortable for our stay. She even brought out toys for our toddler to play with! Rob was a fun and knowledgeable tour guide, and helped us make the most of our stay. Even though our stay coincided with the government shutdown (don't even get me started!) we had no trouble filling our days with gorgeous scenery and wildlife -- and our bellies with delicious food. We are already planning our return visit!
This place has pretty much everything you could want: plenty of space, a well-equipped kitchen, a hot tub, peace and quiet, and views. Man. THE VIEWS. The house is right on the water, so the bay is right in front of your eyes all the time. It is just sensational. Even when it's foggy, the view is peaceful and relaxing. The decor is a little fusty, but whatever. It's clean, comfortable and you're going to spend your time staring out the window anyway.
Also, the house is within walking distance of the Marshall Store and Blue Water Kayak. So you can enjoy some of the area's finer pleasures without the hassle of parking. You're also within driving distance of Point Reyes, which has a lovely Saturday farmer's market and a great (if very expensive) butcher shop. Perfect for stocking up and cooking a meal in.
Note that there's no cell service in the area. Also, be sure to read the check-in instructions on the listing after your reservation is confirmed. I didn't, thinking there'd be an email, and then had a little snag getting into the house.
Our family had an excellent stay at Raspberry House. The location is just incredible. We spent our days kayaking on the bay, fishing from the deck, and exploring the area. When we weren't out and about we just took in the amazing views from the kitchen, living room, and sun room. The house was tidy and had everything we needed. Rob was a friendly and courteous host. We would definitely come back again.
