About This Listing
The best thing about this two-level home is the LARGE OPEN LIVING AREA with 25 ft ceilings and beautiful crown moldings from 1910s.
A full kitchen with Stainless Steel refrigerator and microwave.
3 Bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, one with double vanity sinks.
One of the largest apartments in Downtown at 2,900 sq ft.
The suite comes with luxury sleeping accommodations. We have a king bed in two of the rooms and the third room houses two queen beds. Because of the closeness and airflow between the rooms, ANY LOUD NOISES WILL BE HEARD IN THE OTHER BEDROOMS.
The Exchange Building, completed in 1910 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was refitted in 1996 to house 202 attractive efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments, penthouses, and handicap equipped units. While the building has undergone a series of renovations, every effort has been made to preserve its historic features, such as the original mosaic tiles, an early-1900’s era Tennessee marble staircase, the elaborate plasterwork, and the granite surfaces. The towering marble ceilings of the lobby exude the elegance of downtown living.
Located in the heart of the Downtown Neighborhood – near the nightlife, restaurants, and shopping – our apartments are the ideal home base for exploring the city. Living in a 19-story skyscraper allows a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River. Walk outside and explore the rich, dense neighborhood. Fine dining is offered within blocks at renowned restaurants such as Rendezvous!, The Majestic Grille, or Flights. Enjoy a pint at the neighborhood Irish pub, The Brass Door, or make the three-minute drive to Beale Street and relish in its famous bars such as Silky O’Sullivans, Alfred’s, or Bardog Tavern. You could also take the trolley to Beale St, to the Pyramid, or around the downtown area, since there is a trolley stop a block away.
The apartments provide a homey feel with a luxurious touch and high-quality amenities. Several of the units located on the higher floors provide our residents a spectacular view. Units come with a kitchen, fully equipped with refrigerator, microwave, oven/stove, pots/pans, and dishes. The Management office on the first floor is ready to assist you during business hours, and, as many of my residents already know, I am always just a phone call away. A laundry room with coin-operated machines and a gym on the top floor are easily accessible through the three elevators.
There are public metered spots all around the building. Since parking is not always available, we provide parking passes for a nearby parking garage (1 block away) at the price of $10/day. Note that these prices are non-negotiable since the garage is operated by a separate business.
Situated at an unbeatable location with competitive pricing, our apartments are a click away from becoming your future home or weekend getaway. Let yourself be inspired by the view and invigorated by the bustling and lively neighborhood. Rest up in our comfortable abodes and make sure to spend enough time exploring the giant playground that is the City of Memphis. Come home and enjoy the many amenities, such as the laundry room and the gym, and the luxurious construction and styling of The Exchange Building Apartments. There are public metered spots all around the building. Since there is not always metered parking available, there are covered parking garages within a block or less of the building. Note that the prices for these garages are non-negotiable since the garages are operated by a separate business.

Great stay, wonderful view, and an excellent host to work with. The condo was clean and outfitted with all the essentials. Great location as well.
Place was warm friendly and beautiful. Had a great time!
Location was perfect!
Our stay at this beautiful apartment was like staying at a friend's home. Our host, Sardor, kept in touch with me over the months before our arrival and with our arrival the staff was expecting us, welcoming, and very helpful.
We were impressed at the beauty and size of the apartment --the pictures are true to decor, however do not convey the grandeur of this Grand Dame of architecture. The detail of craftsmanship from and era gone by is amazing! It was lovely, comfortable, and spacious. The only problem we experienced was the acoustics with the high ceilings and open top walls upstairs. Sound travels. I appreciated having a full kitchen to use and a washer and dryer in the apartment!
The Exchange Building is convenient to trolley/bus transportation and within walking distance to restaurants, drug stores, art galleries, and not too far from Beale Street and other attractions. (We were confronted with panhandlers while walking around the city streets, but they took "no" for an answer readily.)
The view from the apartment of Court Park was picturesque and I would have been happy to be able just to relax, read a book and stay in the living room! Five days was not enough time to do it all!
Our trip to Memphis was perfect and having this exquisite place to stay enhanced our memories!
Thank you Sardor, airbnb and the entire staff of the Exchange!
The description was not (email hidden) was not the same apartment that I contracted to rent. There was nothing wrong with the apartment we were given, but I find it disturbing to have been misled. This is not good business practice.
Location is good and we had no trouble getting the keys...parking to unload is a real problem, and entering the building is confusing.
Very unique space in a great location. The massive ceilings make the living room feel like a safe castle in a chaotic city. Check-in could've been better and we had some small issues during our stay, but Sardor was very professional and took great care of us. The beds are amazing and the rooms are all large and comfortable, although we all wish there was more privacy. I would certainly stay here again, as this is probably the best listing in Memphis.

About the Host, Sardor
I was born in Uzbekistan and raised in Memphis. I'm the middle child, with 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters -- and recently a 5 time uncle! I've been fortunate to travel the world in my early years and learned a lot about the different cultures around the world. I enjoy learning about geopolitical history, architecture, and technological advancements that benefit the myriad societies around the globe. To me, Memphis is an exciting city that competes with the great cities of the world as a worthwhile stop for play and leisure. Allow me to host you in my apartments, located in the historic Exchange Building in downtown Memphis.
UPDATE: Due to the increased traffic, I hired additional help to make the check-in process more convenient for my guests. The lobby now has a staffed Front Desk, where you will be able to get any assistance, should you need it. I hope to see you while you're in Memphis, but I do travel a lot and sometimes I miss out on meeting my guests personally. I hope you have a wonderful stay at The Exchange and please don't hesitate to contact me via Airbnb should you need anything.
