Less than two hours away from Seattle, the beach cabin is at water's edge and has just the right touches to make guests feel cozy and at home. A large, private deck overlooks awesome views of the famous Hood Canal 'Great Bend'. Guests can easily and safely step down from the deck to the beach and water using the heavy duty, aluminum, marine grade ladder. There is a propane and charcoal grill and plenty of seating for outdoor dining, basking and relaxing. The inviting one level floor plan has two bedrooms, one bath Each bedroom has a comfortable queen bed with quality linens and if needed, there is a twin sized 18' high air bed.
From the moment guests enter this South Shore beach home they are are greeted with SPECTACULAR, UNOBSTRUCTED VIEWS of the sno-capped Olympic Mountains from the family room the kitchen, the master bedroom and of course, the deck. The PRIVATE BEACH has expansive tidelands for the kids to explore and sweet succulent pacific oysters and delectable Manila clams are easy to collect and do not get any fresher and tastier than this! A unique advantage to this vacation home is that there is a surprising amount of PRIVACY. This peaceful location is the ideal setting for a romantic retreat or to just rest, relax and rejuvenate!
The water is warm and great for kayaking, boating and numerous other water activities. Our guests delight in nature as seals, bald eagles, great blue heron, belted kingfisher and many other migratory birds and ducks abound. The abundant wildlife and phenomenal sunsets provide ample opportunity for captivating photography.
Resting on the shores of Hood Canal and surrounded by the Olympic Mountains, the home is at a CONVENIENT CENTRAL LOCATION. In the city of Union, you are just 2 miles from Alderbrook Resort and Spa. The beach home is a great spot for a bride and groom, their guests, or members of a wedding party to stay at leading up to the big day. The Union City Beach House is just a 4 minute walk away from the UNION COUNTRY STORE, the Hood Canal Marina (where you can rent kayaks), the Public Boat Launch, Union Paddle and Row and the 2 Margaritas Family Mexican Restaurant.
Besides numerous water related activites there are many things to do at Hood Canal, especially for the adventurous! Head to the Olympics and hike Staircase or other more or less challenging trails nearby. Several highly ranked golf courses are close by including, Alderbrook, Salish Cliffs at Little Creek, Gold Mountain and others. Nearby casinos include Little Creek and the Lucky Dog. Gourmet dining is available nearby at The Alderbrook Resort and Spa and The Robinhood Restaurant and Pub. Other activities include wine tasting, antiquing, spa treatments, excursions and listening to live music at local venues.

This cozy and comfortable home is 1050 sq. feet and has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Nearly every room has a sensational view. The home features a large, private deck with plenty of room for relaxing, basking, cooking food on the grill and eating outdoors. The 2016 remodeled kitchen has granite countertop, new appliances and has everything you need. The living area has plenty of comfortable seating. To keep you connected, there is a flat screen HDTV and high speed internet access.
Guests have access to the private beach and tidelands.
Interaction with Guests
During the reservation process and leading up to the reservation date, all communications with be with the owner, Kevin Ehlers.
For home access, guests are instructed to contact Kirk, the local property manager at around noon on the day of check-in to coordinate when and where to meet up for check-in. Check-in is at 4 pm or after. (Kirk's phone number is provided after reservation is confirmed and prior to the check-in date. Early check in (before 3PM) requires a $100 early check-in fee and requires prior owner approval.
The home is located on rural State Highway 106. The posted speed limit is 30 mph on this section of the highway. A quick car ride or five minute walk takes you to the sleepy (downtown) Union where guests can purchase groceries or goodies in high season or enjoy food or cocktails at the popular 2 Margaritas Mexican Restaurant. In summer there are Kayak rentals located at the Hood Canal Marina.
An automobile is usually the preferred method of transportation to get around.

(Upon booking confirmation, responsible guest must confirm and agree that rental agreement and rules have been read and are understood. Minimum age of responsible renter is 28 years. No additional guests beyond agreed number allowed overnight (5 max) No smoking inside home. Pets are allowed with owner prior owner authorization only and the fee may only be paid outside the Airbnb platform. The pet fee is $33 per night. Pets are allowed with prior owner authorization only. Owner will give guest instructions about payment of sales tax or pet fees prior to check-in. Any unpaid fees will be held back from security deposit.
