About This Listing
Small Guest suite adjoining the main house. Very private and private entrance. Walk to surf competitions and snorkeling/adventuring. Lots of Beach Gear, chairs, Snorkel Fins and Masks to use!
Super cute and awesome private bungalow unit. Environmentally solar-powered property! Sometimes called a "mother-in-law unit", this is a Hawaiian Ohana unit, that is completely self contained, has its own entrance, but technically it is the ground floor of the main house. THERE IS A SOLID DOOR SEPARATING IT FROM THE UPSTAIRS HOUSE SO THERE IS NO NOISE ISSUES. Also the internet is boosted so there is strong internet in the unit! (These are some issues people had in the past that have been fixed! :)
The unit is bright and airy, has stone tiled floors, a big closet, and a four poster bed with drapes. Although it doesn't have a full kitchen, there is a mini fridge, microwave, and a Keurig coffee maker
This is a great place for a surf trip to the North Shore or a romantic getaway on a secluded beach. It is in the best area in all of the North Shore! Right across from beautiful Keiki Beach where you can find sunrise shells, and see whales off-shore. Also steps away is Shark's Cove with some of the best snorkeling and sunsets in all of Hawaii! A short walk away is Pipeline, Ehukai Beach, Off the Wall, Backdoor and some of the most famous surfing beaches and best waves in the world. The Famous Waimea bay beach is a 10 minute walk where you can spend all day lounging on one of the most spectacular beaches on the island, or hike to and swim in the Waimea Falls waterfall.
The place is a 5 minute walk to Foodland grocery Store, Coffee Bean, Sharks Cove Grill, Pupukea Grill, and 2 surf shops where you can rent boards, snorkel gear, bikes, etc. There is a bus stop a few minutes away where you can catch a bus around the island.
The North Shore is very secluded but a short 10 minute drive or bus ride takes you to Haleiwa town where you can take a whale cruise, go shark diving, rent mopeds and ATV's, or experience the north shore night life with restaurants, bars, shopping, art galleries, live music, and lots of shave ice! Turtle Bay Resort is a 10 minute drive to the north where you can dine in five star restaurants, watch a sunset, or party with world class music acts in Surfer Magazine's Bar.
If you are looking for crowded mega-resorts, tourist beaches, and high priced nightclubs, then Waikiki is a 45 min drive to the south. If you are looking to escape the rat race and experience the real Hawaii with beautiful uncrowded beaches, world class surfing, and real local Aloha spirit, then North Shore is what you are looking for!!
Lots of Beach Equipment, Snorkel fins and masks, Beach chairs, Beach Games and coolers to use.
There is also a washer and dryer outside the unit.
Looking for quiet, respectful, non smoking travelers. No pets. No drugs. No parties. The North Shore is a quiet and peaceful area. Quiet hours for the property are between 9 pm and 7 am. Please try and be respectful of the neighbors.
Andy's place was exactly as described - the location was perfect for us. Pupukea Beach Park is literally across the street. Foodland is a short walk away. All the other North Shore must sees are a short drive away (some you can even walk to). We had a good night's sleep every night.
Andy is the ideal host. He was responsive and made a point to check in. He provided us with excellent instructions and recommendations prior to arrival. We would definitely rent his place again!
Andy's surf pad was super convenient to all of the spots on the north shore, and the personal recommendations he provided were great tips during our stay. It was nice to have beach towels and snorkel gear provided as part of the rental. Andy made the process very smooth, and quickly got us a replacement key when we needed a new one.
We didn't get the chance to meet Andy, but he was easy to reach and kept in touch during our time there. We arrived late after driving from Honolulu and stopping for dinner and a grocery trip and did not find the key in the box as expected - Andy had his housekeeper there within 20 minutes to let us in though. The place was clean, and the location is incredible, of course - and really can't be beat!
We knew the place would be small, but was hard to see from the photos that it is really only a bedroom and bathroom - you are either in one room or the other, or outside - but it's not like you spend much time inside in Hawaii anyways. We would have liked to know a bit more about the overall building ahead of time - there seem to be 2 or 3 other rental apartments, and this unit is the corner back section of one of them. Overall great location and good spot, and perfect budget accommodations on the North Shore.
Pinne maschere sedie sdraio e ombrelloni a disposizione.
Alejandra & Leandro. Marzo 2015
Great location. Clean, cozy apartment. Andy was an excellent host, responsive and helpful with all my questions about the area. There are several options to eat within walking distance. You can walk to the beach and a few of the surf breaks, or drive a few minutes to one of the many other breaks on the north shore.
We had a great time at Andy's place. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment is very nice, you don't need bigger. Location is very good and it was very good that you could borrow snorkels:) we can really recommend Andy's place.
