Our town home is in a gated community located in Alii Drive. It is centrally located , walking distance to Kahalu 'u Beach, one of the best snorkeling sites in Hawaii. This complex includes excellently maintained tennis courts and swimming pool.
Our town home is fully furnished and well appointed. It offers free wifi connection, cable TV, and free long distance calls to the US and Canada. The amenities in the complex are very well maintained and we are ideally located. The maximum number of guests is four.
Swimming pool; tennis courts; BBQ grills located throughout the complex. All these amenities are shared. The bbq grills are maintained and propane gas supplied by the complex.; guests using them are expected clean up after for others to use.
Interaction with Guests
We would like to give them their space and do not want them to feel that we're checking up on them. We have minimal interaction to reassure them that we can be reached if there are any problems in the town home.
The neighbors are friendly. Our complex has both vacationers and residents. It is a quiet family friendly area. Guests should experience walking down the short path to the beach behind the units and join other residents as they watch the sunset (a daily practice). The snorkeling at Kahalu'u beach Is only a short walk and is a must.
Parking # 33 is specifically designated for this town home. Unfortunately public transit is available but the transit times are few and far between. Fortunately Alii Dr. Is a beautiful road that takes you right to downtown along the sea wall past beaches, shops and restaurants. One can take the
shuttle from the neighborhood shopping center to
downtown. The walk along Alii Dr. is also popular with early morning joggers and leisure walkers.
Other Things to Note
There are beautiful beaches throughout the island for snorkeling, surfing, etc. a 20 minute walk from our complex takes you to one of the best snorkeling beaches in Hawaii.
Pets are not allowed in our townhouse or in the complex. Guests are expected to keep the unit in the same condition as when they moved in. Housekeeping service is provided before and after the guest's departure. Additional house rules and general information are in a binder on the living room table door. Screen doors should be closed at all times. Our townhouse is strictly non-smoking including the lanai area. Please be mindful of the step down leading to the living room from the entrance to the unit. For your safety, turn on the light in the living room and/or staircase before proceeding to the living room to avoid missing the step.

Diane the neighbor who is in charge for housekeeping was very nice, friendly and helpful. We spent an entire month in the apartment which is nicely decorated, clean and had everything you need from kitchen equipment to beach facilities. The pool in the complex was a plus.
We had bugs problems, lots of cockroaches and aunts. It was also the reason we couldn’t enjoy the balcony. Diane gave us insects repellent (a spray) but unfortunately it didn’t help, probably they had ways to get in.

Yes, insects and pests can be a nuisance especially in a tropical climate and we continually strive to take steps to ensure that our guests enjoy their stay. The lanai or balcony is an exposed area of the unit so we encourage our guests to keep the screen door closed at all times among other precautions noted in our house rules. thank you again and we look forward to having you back soon. Exactly as described...spacious very well equipped with lots of kitchen utensils, beach gear and cleaning stuff. Tony was very accommodating. Great communication.
We really enjoyed staying here again. It's such a great location for the nearby snorkeling. A mall with many restaurants and great stores. The condo is a very nice place to call home for a week or more.
Good location in a gated community, 20-30 minutes south of Kailua-Kona at Keauhou Bay. Time driving to Kona depends on whether you go the highway (Queen K) or Ali’I Drive and what time of day. During Kona Ironman it can take 35 minutes via the Queen K. and longer on Ali’I Drive. A pleasant shopping mall was 5 minutes away, or a 15 minute walk: great coffee shop there, plus groceries, gas, Sam Choy’s Restaurant (wonderful sunset view).
Everything we needed was available in the townhouse. We experienced no problems with the Wi-Fi. There are two full bathrooms and both bedrooms have king-size beds so it was very comfortable for 2 couples. While not a problem for us, if you are used to a big kitchen you’ll have to adjust. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, dishes, cutlery, etc. We didn’t use the air conditioning but found the ceiling fans (in every room) to be more than adequate to stay comfortable. Take ear plugs if you don’t like the sound of irrigation at 5am or the birds at 6am.
The pool is great. It can be busy during the day, but we took a dip every evening about 8:30 and rarely found anyone there. Pat and Tony were very helpful and answered the few questions we had very promptly. The day after we arrived, Tony called to make sure we had found everything we needed and that we were settled in. And thanks for the bottle of red wine!
We hope to return one day and we would definitely recommend this location to friends and family.
Great location, and easy to work with owner. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. I plan to contact Tony again for our future vacation plans!
About the Host, Patricia & Tony
My Husband and I are both retired. We enjoy playing tennis, watching movies, trying new restaurants and traveling. We care very much about the environment and joined an organization that serves to educate people about saving the turtles and corals here in Hawaii. As a host we're always thinking of ways to improve our town home for the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, such as amenities, unit upkeep, appliances, etc.
Motto - retirement means enjoying being active.
