Our 1909 Craftsman-style Home has a separate 2 bedroom garden apartment suite with private entrance, outdoor patio and full eat-in kitchen. The large bathroom has jacuzzi tub and separate stall shower. We are located in a nice older neighborhood a few blocks walk to the park, shops and restaurants, as well as bus, train, and BART underground to the delights of San Francisco. Public swimming pool and tennis courts in lovely old town San Bruno Park, one block away from the home.
The great advantage of our home is its central location. Our community is positioned in the middle of everything. We are about halfway between San Francisco and Silicon Valley; near the SFO airport on the beautiful San Francisco Peninsula close to wonderful and stylish cities like Millbrae, Burlingame, San Mateo, Los Altos, Palo Alto, Silicon Valley, and Stanford University.
Our guests do not need a rented vehicle to get around to enjoy the fascinations of San Francisco because of the convenience of public transport. San Bruno is home to the remodeled Tanforan Shopping Center, YouTube headquarters, and Microsoft affiliates. Tours and day-trips to Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and Napa-Sonoma Wine Country are available in San Francisco.
Within reach of a short car ride there are many wonderful walks by the Crystal Springs lakes, along the San Francisco Bay shoreline in Milbrae and Burlingame, or along the Bay in Foster City by the old sloughs and reed marshes full of pelicans, cranes, ducks and wildlife. Fifteen minutes away, over the hill to Pacifica Ocean Pier and Linda Mare surfing beach give a grand impression of the California Pacific coast. The new tunnel at Linda Mar is now open to the site of the world renown "Mavericks" surfing event, and delightful Half Moon Bay fishing fleet harbor, beaches, walks, and sanctuaries.
For those who like stunning architecture and urban landscaping, Burlingame and San Mateo offer a wide array of styles from all over the world thanks to the amazing carpenters and builders who came to rebuild San Francisco after the Great Quake.
Regarding parking your vehicle. Our property was built during the horse and buggy days -it has no garage or driveway. But, there is usually ample parking on the public avenues. A possible downside is airport noise during some busy periods. Otherwise, the proximity and convenience is nearly unmatched -well maybe, a little bit matched.
Guests have a two bedroom apartment with two private entrances to and from the garden and your own special Sedona sandstone patio.
Interaction with Guests
We respect our guests tastes for conversation and information.
Our home is one block from the old-time City Park with heritage trees, lovely walks, baseball diamonds, public swimming pool, public tennis courts, and recreation center. In the other direction, downtown San Bruno is a haven for ethnic restaurants -try Kobi Saki hand-rolled sushi.
We are four blocks from bus lines on the El Camino Real; about 15 minutes walk from the train to San Francisco, Stanford, Silicon Valley, and 25 minutes from the BART underground to San Francisco waterfront delights on the Embarcadero.

No smoking indoors, but OK in large garden. Please turn out lights when not in use, and try to conserve water. Utilities are very expensive in the Bay Area -Please use responsibly.
My boyfriend and I stayed for around 3 months and it was one of my best Airbnb experiences. The place itself was very tidy, clean, and stylishly decorated. The hosts, Nuala and Tom, are friendly and helpful beyond words. The apartment is surrounded by their beautiful, green garden with fresh flowers and fruits. San Bruno downtown and Caltrain are in walking distance. We loved it and would stay there again any time.

Nuala and Tom are from Ireland and Germany. Tom writes books about ancient culture, and Nuala enjoys going to ancient sites as part of her visits to Peru, Egypt, Greece, and her homeland in Ireland. Obviously Nuala enjoys travel, but she loves gardening above all.
Most of her flowers, plants and shrubs are slipped or cultivated from seed. Tom says he enjoys the flowers, and that his wife's real talent is provincial cooking. She can invent and create anything from a brief description of a dish.
