About this listing
Our 1885 home will take you back in time, as family and friends explore its charming interior and wooded grounds. Enjoy nearby attractions, relax at night with a campfire, or have dinner in Brevard and attend a Music Center event.
This was the first house built in the Cedar Mountain area expressly for a summer home. It is situated on 30 wooded acres with streams and trails and is perfect for those attending Pretty Place weddings or for people who enjoy hiking, cycling, or just chilling with serene surroundings. Close by are Jones Gap and Caesar's Head State Parks in SC as well as Pretty Place Chapel at Camp Greenville. Brevard, NC ( The Land of Waterfalls), with its music center and outstanding restaurants, is a 30-minute drive, while DuPont State Forest is even closer!
You will have access to fireplaces, fire pit, carport parking and use of our walking trails.
Interaction with Guests
While you are here, we won't be, but family members live year-round on the adjacent property, and we will be in contact by phone as necessary.
I love that it isn't a neighborhood! It is an old house on acres of land and not another house in sight.
Convenient to major highway and nearby tourist destinations accessed by car or bicycle. Asheville, NC or Greenville, SC airport transportation can be arranged.

About the Host, Missie
Retired middle school teacher, wife, mother to 1 daughter who lives in Brevard, grandmother, mama to 2 dogs and 7 hens. Interested in family, volunteering, gardening, animals, reading, board games. Husband also on premises and big into travel, pickleball, tennis, golf, and hiking. The house isn't insulated and water must be shut down in winter months, so we make this our home from May to October, and it is what we look forward to all year. We live the rest of the year 130 miles away in the midlands of SC. We will be helpful hosts or leave you alone if you prefer, but be prepared to be charmed by our old place and its history.
