About This Listing
I have a one bedroom apartment with a seperate kitchen and lounge.
There is wifi, hot water and radiators (if you are visiting during winter time). There is a lumpy sofa and a sofabed in the lounge for extra people if you need the space or travelling in a larger group. Basically apart from a couple using the main bedroom you can have up to 2 people using the lounge at a push you can add 1 more on the lumpy sofa.
I don't smoke but if you need to smoke, the kitchen is always available with the windows open for all you smokers out there. You are welcome to read my books, watch my dvds and use my laptop but please take care of my home just as you would take care of your home.
Please note that this is my home with all my stuff still there, my clothes are in the wardrobes and drawers, my food is in the fridge and larder, it is lived in...it is not a hotel and I don't advertise it to be one.
The place will be clean when you arrive but my washing will still probably be in the washing basket and my abpro exercise machine will be in the lounge or bedroom which you are welcome to use or move around for more space.
You will probably find a more elegant and swish place elsewhere who have professional cleaners etc if you want. I am being extra honest here as I don't want you guys to expect a hotel type establishment when you arrive. Just think that you're visiting an old relatives place but without them there to annoy you.
I live in walking distance to a train station, tram station and local bus station. The train station is 24hours as are some of the buses. By train it's not more than 15 minutes into central London, 25 minutes to Wimbledon by tram and local buses all over London. Plus you can get to any airport from my place, Gatwick, Luton & Stanstead by train, Heathrow by bus (direct, no changes up to 70-80 mins) and Victoria Coach Station is only 15 minutes by train.
It's 1-5 minutes from 4 supermarkets, small shopping district and 10 minutes walk from the main town centre.
Interaction with Guests
None at all except via emails. No meeting guests at all. So please give plenty of advance notice for your enquiries. As I do not meet and greet you, I need to send/post my keys and instructions to you. This will not be possible if you are overseas and there isn't sufficient time.
Easy access to supermarkets and other convenience stores. Near to ATMs to get cash and stores that sell oyster card and top ups for oyster cards and cell phones. Close to 2 pubs, although the Cricketers near Lebanon Road is more family friendly.
Tram stop 5 mins walk away. Bus stop 30 second walk away. Mainline station to London etc open 24hours and 15 mins walk away.
smoking only in kitchen with windows open. I don't have many house rules, it's pretty basic. don't set fire to things, try not to break anything. if you take one of my books please let me know the title so i can delete them from my sale list. you are welcome to watch my dvds. please remember to turn off shower mains switch after use. and the most important thing is remember to take the keys with you before you leave the apartment.
Sharon's apartment was immaculate when I arrived and everything was labelled which was a fantastic help. She provided me with a map of the local area and marked off the train, bus and tram stops. Her advert said the apartment was cluttered, but is actually found it to be homey and welcoming. I would highly recommend this apartment to a single or couple who are looking for a home away from home. Thank you Sharon.
Sharon is an excellent host. She is extremely organized and generous, we loved the chocolates and snacks when we arrived. We are known "clean freaks", we packed our own cleaning supplies but didn't feel compelled to use them. Her place was spotless! The location is great to get a feel for the "real England" and the neighborhood has plenty of nice folks willing to help clueless Americans. The daily walk to the tram was good exercise and both London Bridge and London Victoria stations now feel like home. Her movie collection is superb (we obviously have the same taste in action movies) and we loved the local pub, The Cricketeers. The only downsides to the area were the lack of street signs and if you are over 6 ft tall, watch out for the chandeliers in the apartment. The home is small and every inch of available space is used with lots of tchotchkes from her extensive travels. This home is a great place for a short weekend stay or even a full two weeks like our visit. We would stay here again without a doubt.

About the Host, Sharon
I'm an easy going independent person who travels quite a lot. So my apartment is on occassion available to rent. I'm pretty laid back. I would hope people will treat my home as they would treat their home.
