The space
Welcome to Cabot Plains Farm!

Perched high up above the town of Cabot (home of the world famous Cabot Cheese) at the headwaters of the Winooski River, you’ll be treated to stunning wide-open views of both sunrises over the White Mountains and ever-changing sunsets over the Green Mountains. The views are what makes this place so special! In addition to the main farmhouse and covered bridge, the property also includes a four-story barn, a renovated historic schoolhouse that once served the area, a hen house, and a sugarhouse for making maple syrup.

You’ll stay in an updated and expanded historic farmhouse which sleeps 10 comfortably. The farmhouse has 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and multiple gathering spaces on both floors. A spacious, fully equipped open kitchen with twin sinks and central island stovetop opens up to the light filled two-story main living and dining space. From the main living space, step out through the glass doors to take in the views from the back deck or expansive lawn.

The first floor primary bedroom includes a full size jacuzzi tub, opens onto its own private porch, and has views of the covered bridge from the en-suite bathroom. Upstairs bedrooms all have spectacular views with a tiger maple four poster full-sized bed in one, a queen sized bed with morning views in another, and two twin beds in a fun kids room. There is an additional queen sized bed in the "Crow’s Nest" room upstairs.

Well equipped for remote workers with desks and working spaces throughout the house and wifi with plenty of speed for video conferencing and streaming. For those not working, relax on the couches in one of the two downstairs living rooms, or nestle in to enjoy reading or playing games in the upstairs lounge. The mudroom has plenty of space for boots and gear after outdoor activities - and outside is where you’ll want to be!

This is truly a four-seasons property with activities for all ages! The land abuts the Cabot Trails Network and is just 3 miles from the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail for miles of hiking, biking, or cross-country skiing. Kids can sled through the fields right out the back door. Ice skating is available at the Cabot Town Common during the winter.

LOCAL FOOD + DRINK
You’ll be just minutes outside of Cabot village and yet worlds away. Walk down to our neighbors at Burtt’s Apple Orchard or drop into town for a pint at The Den @ Harry’s Hardware (yes, it is a bar in a hardware store, and yes it is as awesome as you think). Don’t miss a maple creemee at Butch’s Harvest’ore (7 mins), where you can also find farm-fresh eggs, local meats, and homemade breads and baked goods from local farm families! Foodies will also enjoy a visit to Hill Farmstead Brewery and the cheese cellars at Jasper Hill Farm, both in Greensboro (28 mins).

SKIING
Cabot Plains Farm is centrally located between several downhill ski areas including Burke Mountain (40 mins), Stowe (55 mins), Bolton Valley (65 mins), Sugarbush (70 mins), Mad River Glen (70 mins), Jay Peak (70 mins) and more! After exploring the neighboring cross-country ski trails, you can also enjoy over 65 miles of trails at Craftsbury Outdoor Center (40 mins), which provides ski rentals.

HIKING
Some of our favorite local hikes include Nichol’s Ledge (15 mins), Groton State Forest (30 mins), Spruce Mountain (40 mins), Worcester Mountain (40 mins), and Willoughby State Forest (45 mins).

SWIMMING
If you’re looking to cool off on a hot summer day, we love Joe’s Pond (10 mins), Molly’s Falls Pond (15 mins), Boulder Beach (35 mins), Curtis Pond (35 mins), and Shadow Lake (35 mins).

Other things to note
Please note that the hot tub on the back deck is unavailable, we apologize for any inconvenience.

However, the jacuzzi tub in the primary bedroom is fully functional and makes for a lovely bubble bath and evening soak to soothe sore muscles after a day of outdoor activity.
