Sweet little Peachland Cottage sits behind our 1940's house on a quiet street in the centrally located town of Sebastopol in Western Sonoma County wine country.
The cottage sleeping loft accommodates two people with a full size futon and egg crate topper (which is super comfy). The sitting area downstairs has a small sofa, writing desk (wi-fi available) and room for your belongings. There is a half bath (toilet and small sink), small refrigerator, electric kettle, water dispenser and basic utensils. We provide some delicious coffee and teas to make at your leisure as well as fruit and yogurt and muffins or breads if we have been baking.
A note: ladder to loft is a bit steep and loft is not high enough to stand up.
This is a more rustic style property and includes an outdoor shower (with newly installed 2-sided metal enclosure, replacing the curtain style:) and sink, both with hot water. Towels and a big cozy robe are provided. There is also an outdoor seating area and you are welcome to enjoy the garden. Sorry we are not able to accomodate any pets.
Interaction with Guests
We like to give guests privacy, but are also open and available to interacting with guests if they feel like socializing and/or have and questions about their stay and things to do and see.
Our friendly yet quiet neighborhood is in excellent walking distance to the town of Sebastopol which offers great food, coffee, shops, live music, farmers market (Sundays), galleries, vintage clothing stores, parks, library and even an excellent public outdoor pool. Biking trails are easily accessed and we are close to several other towns that are worth exploring; Graton, Freestone (with their famous Wild Flour Bakery and Osmosis Spa), Occidental and Bodega and Healdsburg.
We are one hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge. The Sonoma Coast is a 15 minute drive and Calistoga in the Napa Valley is only a 35 minute drive to soaking in the wonderful mineral pools. There are many and varied possibilities for Wine tasting and a plethora of festivals take place in Sonoma County from music to wine, art, apples, film and even a Handcar Regatta. And, swimming or kayaking the Russian River is just 20 minutes away.
Other Things to Note
If you have special interests, I am happy to help you arrange plans in advance, be it winery recommendations, spa or restaurant reservations, activities, etc.
We do not not allow smoking of any kind in the cottage or on the property. No extra guests. We ask for quiet between the hours of 11 pm and 7 am. Not suitable for kids under 6 due to safety with ladder to the loft.
Tiny homes are all the rage, and this was perfect taste of tiny home living! The cottage was perfectly appointed with tea, coffee and chocolate. The futon in the loft was comfy. Showering in the outdoor shower was a treat, especially after the light rain. Carla was a gracious host and immediately made us feel welcome upon arrival.
Carla is a very sweet woman and the cottage is great!! Very clean, cute and perfect for a weekend get away.
Had a great stay. The cottage was very comfortable and private. Perfect refuge, couldn't have been better. Many thanks Carla
We had a lovely stay. It was quiet and peaceful and secluded. We looked forward to visiting again.
What a great little place. Carla has thought of so many details. It is a clean, cozy, comfortable cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Perfect spot for a get away right in the heart of Sonoma.
What a fun stay! While the cottage is quite small (you'll want to go with a very close friend) it is adorable, peaceful, and the location is great. It came stocked with delicious locally roasted coffee, fresh raspberries, fizzy water and chocolate! We loved being able to walk into town and recommend Peter Lowell for dinner and The Gypsy for breakfast, both 10-15 minutes walk through a cute residential neighborhood (take Florence St to see local artist Patrick Amiot's funky sculptures). The outdoor shower was a little chilly but an enclosure is apparently in the works. Our host Carla was really friendly and we actually looked forward to bumping into her and catching up during our stay. She gave us privacy but was always available. We are thinking of relocating to the area and she offered many great suggestions of things to see and back roads to drive. It was so fun having a local to talk to about our discoveries in cute nearby towns and share our excitement! We felt very comfortable the whole time and highly recommend this cottage and host.
We felt very welcome and the cottage was very homey and cozy. It was relatively easy to find (just remember to go up the driveway to the left of the house and you should see the cottage on the right!), and it matched the description to a tee. Carla gave us plenty of suggestions for wineries to visit (within walking AND driving distance), places to eat, and nearby beaches. The bed was very comfortable, and the little amenities were awesome. This included the yogurt+raspberries in the fridge, the coffee set-up, and the outdoor shower. I would definitely recommend this place for anybody trying to "get away" from the city and a busy life!
