About this listing
Enjoy Stowe in a cozy, well-appointed log cabin. Our house is in the heart of Stowe Hollow - a quiet neighborhood in Stowe that is 1.5 miles from downtown and only 15 minutes from Stowe Mountain Resort.
Our house will comfortably sleep 6. Our master bedroom has a king sized bed and en suite bathroom. There is a guest room with two queen beds. A second bathroom ensures that everyone will get their requisite shower time! Linens provided.
Downstairs you will find a cozy living room with gas fireplace, a galley kitchen, a half bath, and a formal dining room. You will have access to our pots and pans, space in the fridge and basic spices. We also have an automatic dishwasher, microwave, electric stovetop and oven.
Drop your ski gear in our garage or mudroom at the end of the day and settle in for your ideal ski vacation!
We have a big screen tv and roko and a DvD player. You can enjoy tv on Hulu Plus, Netflix or just pop in a family favorite to enjoy. We don't have cable.
In downtown Stowe you will find an array of entertainment and dining options. Our favorite restaurants are Harrison's, The Whip and Crop Bistro. We will have a binder full of dining and activity suggestions ready for you when you arrive.
If you are looking for the ability to have an affordable, memorable holiday experience in Stowe, this is your place!
We have a dog that will not be in the house during your stay but if you are allergic to dog hair, take note.
Guests will enjoy all the comforts of staying in a home rather than a hotel. We have free parking in our two car garage, access to 1 bike, our canoe, outdoor grill, hammock and more
Interaction with Guests
We will greet you upon arrival to introduce ourselves and give you a tour of the house. We will then let you enjoy the house on your own. If we are out of town ourselves, we will have caretakers designated in case you should need anything.
Stowe Hollow is a gorgeous nook of Stowe. It is conveniently located off of Rt 100 (only 12.5 minutes from the exit 10 off 89!) but tucked away so you feel away from it all. Our house is minutes away from the trailhead of Pinnacle Trail - one of the best hikes in the state of Vermont! We feel very lucky to live here and are excited to share it with our guests.
It's best to have a car to get around. You can ride bikes into town from our house, it takes about 20 minutes. Be warned there are hills on the way back!
The house is our home, not a second home that we rent out for income. We ask our guests to treat it with respect and let us know if anything was broken/damaged during their stay. So far we have had excellent experiences with our guests and hope to continue the trend!
Cozy living room with big screen tv, sectional couch, fireplace and two chairs (breakfast nook not pictured)
This is a very nice family house that held 5 of us well. It's quite near town and hence, near the ski slopes as well. Julia left us clear directions and everything was easy and clean. Would recommend it.
Julia and Tom have a beautiful home in Stowe. Our favorite part of the house was the living room (pictured). It was nice to come back after a (REALLY COLD) day of skiing and sit in front of the fireplace. The house was warm and inviting and Tom did a great job walking us through the house when we arrived, before quietly leaving us to our own devices.
Planning the trip was a breeze and Julia checked in a few times to make sure we had everything, even offering a pack-and-play since we both have young children.
We spent Christmas week at Julia and Tom's house. We had a really great time. The house is beautiful, warm and comfortable. We particularly appreciated the beautiful Christmas tree they prepared, the guest book with a lot of recommendations and practical details, and a lot of littles attentions that made us feel very well in their house. There are many things to do in the area. So we really recommend it !
About the Host, Julia
My name is Julia and I live with my husband Tom, our daughter Nora and our dog Sylvester in Stowe, Vermont. Tom works for the State of Vermont as a biologist and I own and operate a small travel consulting firm, EnRoute Consulting.
Tom and I met while ski-bumming in Jackson Hole, WY. We eventually moved out to Montana, where Tom pursued his masters in ecology from the University of Montana. In 2012, we embarked on a 10-month round-the-world trip prior to our wedding. Our travel adventures are immortalized on our blog: weddingsandwhitewater.blogspot
We are a fun-loving, responsible couple that will treat any space we rent as if it were our own.
