  • Xavier was so nice! When we first got there we were alittle turned around on how to get in and I had forgotten to print out the code to get into the building. But I had Xaviers number and when I called him he came right out to meet us. He even helped us bring our luggage up. We were even early for check in time.
He walked us through everything we needed to know know about the apt. We had a hair dryer and an iron and previous guest had left some spices and oils that we were welcome to use. There were some books and menus as well as a few other tourist-y things. (maps etc)
I really felt like if we needed anything we could just call. They were very quick to respond to emails. There was no one coming that morning that we left so we were allowed to stay til 1 since or flight wasn't until 5pm. That was very generous of them.
We had every thing we needed and the area was a block of the Bastille and an amazing area. I would gladly stay here again.

  • This is an amazing, fully equipped apartment in one of the best locations in Paris.
The bed is situated upstairs which frees up a lot of space in the awesome kitchen.
The host was nice and helpful and the price is reasonable. If you have no problem climbing steps to bed, don't miss out on this.

  • its such a cute flat. and bang in the best position.
clean and neat-upstairs accommodates sleeping only, which is a great solution, so there is much more space downstairs.
owners were super kind, and found out of the box solution for me to pick up the keys, very friendly people.

  • We stayed in this apartment for a week in February 2014. Claire was very accommodating, meeting us in the morning so we could drop off our luggage early. The water heater was broken upon our arrival, but Claire got it fixed within a day and even opened up her own shower for our use in the meantime.

The location of the apartment was very convenient for us. It's very close to both Bastille and Saint-Paul Métro stations. In addition, there are many stores on Rue St Antoine, including a Monoprix about 5 mins walk away. Definitely no problems getting anything you need.

The washroom is small but usable, as others have mentioned, it's not particularly private so anything going on inside will be heard by anyone else in the apartment.

No problems with the sleeping area - we knew it was a loft from the pictures and didn't find the climb up to the bed annoying or difficult.

Kitchen was basic but we didn't do any cooking so it wasn't an issue for us. There was a kettle for morning coffee or tea, which was sufficient for our needs.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay and we would definitely consider staying there again the next time we are in Paris.

  • The best apartment we ever rented either via AirBNB or otherwise. And Xavier is a perfect hosts. We rented the place for 6 day, and there was everything including. The apartment is very well connected to the main attractions of the beautiful Paris. If we return to Paris in the future, we will rent the Xavier's flat again for sure.

  • The apartment is nice and cozy.
Very close to the metro station, nice restaurants and walking distance to many of Paris' attractions.
We were told that they would meet us upon arrival but instead we had to borrow a strangers phone to ring them and get them to let us into the flat from the cold.
We were greeted by a nice looking, clean flat and bottle of wine however I felt like we could of been given more friendly advice on the area.
The bathroom is nice and has a good shower however it isn't very private and you can here everything that goes on in there from the outside.
It has all the cooking utensils you'd need but we had to open the window to the cold winter every time we cooked to stop the apartment smoking out. There was also no smoke detector in the flat which I found a little odd.
Advice on where the outside bins are and what the code is to access the building should be a standard thing to provide guests. However, instead we had to ask for the code and went on a hunt to find the bins.

Overall the apartment is very nice and the location is great, however we personally would not stay there again and would hope for more friendly and informative advice from our next host.

  • The apartment is lovely, the location is superb, and the hosts are
    very friendly.

There are a few inconvenient aspects, though:

    (1) The bed to sleep on is at the top of a very steep ladder (and is squeezed in a very narrow space under the ceiling). Not ideal for climbing in and out if you need to in the middle of the night, or if you're a bit inebriated (who isn't in Paris?).

    (2) The toilet bowl is placed in a such a way that you can't really relax when you sit on it: your knees are tucked into the walls.

    (3) The sink to wash your hands is underneath some sort of panel, so that you can't see your hands when you're washing them, and the faucet is tucked into the sink so that there isn't really room for your hands.

So, I'd suggest to the hosts to invest into remodeling of the bathroom area to make it more convenient. As to the bed, I'd suggest making an additional sleeping space at the floor level.

    Response from Claire & Xavier:

We understand your comments about the flat though we undertake the design of the flat.

We have chosen to offer a small loft experience not an hostel room in 22sqm.

So yes bathroom and mezzanine bed are not the most convenient but the compromise was done to offer a nice, cozy and spacious living room where you feel like really living in Paris.

  • Great location, with a wonderful, spirit-lifting view as you exit onto Rue St Antoine. Easy access to metro. An excellent launch pad for a stellar holiday in Paris.

The apartment is well fitted out, and makes very smart use of its limited space. A nice place to come home to each day.
