My best regards,
If you’re looking for local (the sights, the smells, etc.), Adriano’s is the place to go. It’s in the Macarena neighborhood and you won’t see another tourist for quite a ways. My brother and I stayed there for three nights and felt like locals by the end of our stay.
Adriano’s bikes are a great way to get around the city if you get tired or just want a break from walking. There is a trick to getting them in the lift (Adriano’s flat is on the seventh floor) but it’s not a big deal. The beds are normal and the shower is hot. Adriano is a great conversationalist, in Spanish and English. It’s a good base camp from which to see Seville’s sights and its’ natives.
Our stay in Sevilla was really nice. We arrived without being able to agree on a time before, but Nina and Adriano (by phone) reacted spontanously and we could check in anyway. Nina provided us with a map and explained everything. She also kept the apt. very clean during our stay. The apt. is nicely equipped, the beds were comfortable and everything worked well. It is really close to the centre, we could walk everywhere. Sevilla is very nice and a charming city.
We didn't meet Adriano as he was out of town, but Antonio the owner of bar El Momento was so kind as to help us with the entrance to the parking lot and apartment. Later we met Adriano's wife Nina with whom we only had a short conversation because we don't speak enough Spanish. The room was nice and clean and comfortable enough. The bathroom was perfect. We only used the kitchen once, as it was a bit untidy and small. The location was a little bit further from the city centre than we expected, but we're good walkers and it was no problem. Great advantage was the parking space, which we probably wouldn't have had in the centre. The apartment is in front of a hospital and we were afraid that ambulances would keep us awake, but it was no problem. I would certainly recommend this place for a stay in Seville, which we found - by the way - a marvellous city.
We had a perfect stay at Adriano's place. He was out of town so his charming wife Nina made sure that everything was running smoothly for us with small attentions. The appartment is exacly like the pictures and we needed a parking for the rental car and oh boy, that was a big plus for us and it made our lire Michel easier. Tank you.
The room and the flat were nice and clean. We had no real contact to adriano or nina.
Adriano and Nina were fantastic hosts! Really friendly, communicative, and helpful- they really went out of their way to make us feel at home. Their apartment was really clean, easy to find, and had both fast wifi and hot water which was a real rarity in our trip otherwise. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!
We spent a week in the apartment, Adriano was absent during our stay, only Nina (his wife) was there. She wasn't very friendly, gave us a map of Seville with some indications. Our room wasn't available on the arrival so we had to leave our luggages in the livingroom.
Very important point: The apartment is rather well located in the city but it's just in front of the emergency entrance of the hospital Macarena! Restless nights are guarantees depending on the day, as there may have ambulance ringing during part of the night! .. Shame when we are there for a week of vacation!
Nina wasn't present during our stay just a few "holas" from time to time and just one conversation the first night initiated by us. She flatly ignored us the last two days with a bonus; a large noisy storage on Friday during a part of the night.
We had two days without hot water because the gas bottle was almost empty before she changed it.
No dryer as stated in the ad, only a drying. The kitchen is functional, there's free space in the fridge, free access to equipment and dishes. The apartment is freezing in winter because everything is marble (floor) and quite noisy (no double glazing). There is no central heating, only two portable heaters in both rooms. The marble bathroom, unheated and icy in winter, and no shower gel. What a disappointment!
If Adriano will not be living in this apartment anymore the two of you should probably remove the "Spanish lessons" from the description. Todo muy comodo y los anfitrones muy amables. The building is at a major cross section so it was not difficult to find, hoewever Adriano said he would be there but was not. He left me a message but I did not receive it until after we had arrived to the apartment complex. The location is just outside the Casco Viejo near La Macarena making it a short walk to most parts of the city. Asking for some guidance on using the bus service can help lengthen your days as public transportation is quite excellent in Sevilla. A trip to Mercedes' bar downstairs is highly recommended.
Adriano's place was great. We really enjoyed our stay in Seville at Adriano's place. We were able to come and go as we pleased. His apartment is very nice. It is homey and clean. He greeted us with a nice welcome and in the morning gave us a map and some good information and recommendations about the city. His flat was slightly difficult to get to at first though...we had a hard time finding the street, so maybe call him if you can't find it as he is very helpful. His flat is just outside of the center of the city and it was very easy to walk or bike anywhere we needed to go. We also really enjoyed the bikes, although one doesn't fit in the elevator so we had to hoist it up and down quite a few stairs. The bikes are not in the best shape (mine had some brakes that didn't work so well.) Overall, they were perfect for some easygoing cruising around Seville. We also found the flat to be very clean and slept very well.
Adriano and his wife are very nice and helpful hosts. They gave us a brief introduction to the city, which was nice.
The apartment is nice and just a few minutes walk away from the old part of the city. Definately recommended.
