THINGS TO NOTE:
The original staircase in the property is open and has no child safe barriers. It is not recommend for children under 5 or 6 years of age.
The Kitchenette is not a full kitchen. It does however include a kettle, toaster, microwave and portable cooktop.
There is a strict no party policy, although you are of course encouraged to have a wine or two and relax and enjoy yourselves.
There is a very fluffy grey dog who lives out the back, apart from an occasional bark when I, or you come home, you won’t notice she is here.
Please remember that you are staying in a home and not a hotel, a lot of care and consideration has gone into making it a pleasant place for you and for future guests to enjoy.
Guests are expected to leave the property similar to how they found it - clean and tidy.
Please do your dishes or put them in the dishwasher and start it before you head off, if you have made a mess, please make an effort to tidy a little, as you would if you were staying with friends of family.
I have tried my best to create a warm homely environment for you to enjoy, I sincerely hope you enjoy the space and it helps make your Hobart experience enjoyable.
Interaction with Guests
I always try to be here to welcome guests, give them a quick tour of the house, showing all the interesting architectural and design feature of it as well as how to use the heaters, find extra towels, use the entertainment system, advise which cafes and restaurants are good at the moment. I then leave the guests to settle in, relax and enjoy themselves, the house is theres. Unless they would like to have a chat, require help or assistance with anything, guests won't see me again. Although I do always try to say farewell just before they depart.
Battery Point is perhaps the best known historic area in Hobart, Trinity Hill, which sixtyone is located in the heart of, is an area that is also full of heritage properties. The majority of which were constructed between 1860 and 1920. The immediate area - Church Street and Warwick Streets in particular - represents a rare and focused collection of Hobart’s most significant residential heritage buildings.
The local bus service is one block away and runs very regularly (weekdays every 10 minutes). The house is very close to the city and waterfront, most guests just walk.
Please be well behaved, good natured and respectful of my house which I have worked hard to make as nice and comfortable for you and future guests to enjoy.
No loud music after 11, no parties and no smoking.
I stayed at Damian's with 4 other friends. The house was AMAZING. Perfect for 5 people with ample space and perfect facilities. Damian has put at lot of love and care into his property which made our stay even more memorable. From the view in the showers, to drinking wine on the verandah it provided a perfect place to unwind between day activities and exploring local restaurants in the evening. We found some fantastic places for breakfast and dinner short walks away. If (or rather when) I return to Hobart I will be doing my best to return to stay at Damian's again!
Our stay began with Damian meeting us to show us around his wonderfully restored home, taking time to point out all the details of his restoration. Nearly every room had fresh flowers for us, which was a superb addition to the already amazing decor. Specifically, we enjoyed the dual shower in the en-suite, the remote control lights, the high-end tv & hifi and the location of the house. We are seasoned Airbnb travelers, and this is by far the cleanest place we've seen. Saying we'd stay here again is an understatement; we would move in if we could.
Damian was the perfect host from start to finish. Not only was the house beautifully presented throughout, but much thought had gone into the details. With a guidebook second to none, and all amenities catered for (incl. ironing board which many forget!) I cannot rate this accommodation highly enough, both for newcomers to Hobart but also regulars. A short stroll to North Hobart and and easy walk to town, we loved it! Thank you for an amazing stay in your beautiful home!
We had the best time in Hobart and Damian's house is just amazing, there were 7 of us and we felt right at home. So close to everything, beautiful view of the church and Hobart. The attention to detail with everything way 10/10. We'll be back and I highly recommend staying here on your next visit to Hobart.
Damian made us feel welcome before we even arrived! A lovely house to stay and everything you need is close by.
We particularly appreciated the "where to guide" when booking restaurants and looking for places to visit.
We will return
My family and I stayed at sixtyone for our first trip to Tasmania and it could not have been better. Damian has done an incredible job refurbishing this house to impeccable standards. We couldn't fault it and he made us feel so welcome and at home. Damian has a wealth of knowlegde of Tasmania and provided us with some great recommendations. North Hobart is a lovely area. It's quiet and within a few minutes walk to the centre/harbour. The house has beautiful surroundings with lovely restaurants, wine bars and cafes nearby. Stunning! I would not hesitate recommending this property to anyone and will hopefully be back to stay again :)
Great house in a good location, walking distance to the city centre. The host was extremely helpful and gave us lots of good information about where to eat, visit etc.
