The Cottage is old fashioned and traditional but has been renovated to a very high standard so that, for example, the bathroom and the kitchen have modern amenities. The cottage is light and tranquil. It has a totally equipped kitchen, wood-burning stove, a quiet luminous courtyard sheltered beneath the hill, garage, and fantastic views of the orchard, the hills and the river. Few kilometers around there are many good restaurants, a couple of local shops, museums and lots of nice hiking and cycling routes, canoeing and riding activities...

Interaction with guests
The Cottage is part of the La Era de Oxox farm. We live just 200 meters from there, although the mountains prevent from disturbing each other. We welcome guests to visit the farm and we can guide them along the moorish traditional watering net
The Cottage is located almost in the geographical center of the region of Murcia, so that you can reach the coast, the high mountains of the Northwest, the Highlands of Jumilla and Yecla in less than 90 minutes.
Perintin is a short walk into the village of Ojós -the smallest village of the Murcian region-, 10 minutes from the Spa in Archena, 30 minutes from the City of Murcia, 50 minutes from the beaches of the Mediterranean, an hour from El Altet airport (Alicante), three hours from the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park and 3,5 hours from Madrid.
Bike, walk and car are the best. The public transport is still poor, being several daily buses to Murcia, from a bus stop less than 1 km from the Cottage (line 42A by Latbus)
Other things to note
Well educated pets are welcome.
At first sight you'll see the Cottage is like a little museum; we beg you to take care of it as it's worth it, thank you!
I am a now a local girl, after wandering the world for a while. The Cottage is part of a small organic oranges and lemons farm, La Era de Oxox, and grow all sorts of other organic food too.
We are are fluent in Spanish, English and Catalan, and speak a bit of French, Italian and German too. Me or a good friend taking care of Perintín when at work, Jack, will be happy to give you any advice you might need about the area (places to visit, museums, nicest bars and restaurants, hiking routes, fairs...).
The Ricote Valley, also known as the Moorish Valley, is a mountanious region of Murcia which has had for hundreds of years an irrigation system of cannals and watermills. The river Segura running all along the farm and peculiar mountains all around, allow us to enjoy sunny winters, warm springs and hot summers on the shade of green and fragrant spots, full of birds and flowers of all kinds. It is cool for one month a year only (December-January, and never under 0 degrees Celsius).
Murcia is one of the least touristic regions of Spain, and its Ricote Valley the most astonishing spot, though if you wish to visit the coast, it is only one hour drive to the beach. You will find people here are friendly and Murcian cuisine is wonderful to discover, and you will discover that the Ricote Valley is a trully oasis within Europe!.
If you do not drive, our local bus system is quite reliable, and we are happy to come and collect you sometime from any of the nearby village, and you will find very accurate directions to Ojós here and on our website..
Please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions. Be sure both the Cottage and the area will shock you for good!
