The cottage was wonderful. As other reviewers noted, its even better than the pictures. Not only would we love to stay there again, we did not want to leave. The canal setting is beautiful. Mark was a lovely host. He was out of town when we were there so we did not get to meet. But even so, he was available by phone and incredibly responsive.
Fantastic location, great host, highly recommend. Stayed over Memorial Day weekend to do a bit of work and relax. Host was responsive and flexible. Flat was well equipped and the location was great. Chill out by the canals, walk to the beach and an easy uber ride everywhere else.
The cottage is very cute, even nice and bigger than on the pictures.
The view of the canal is incredible, and the peacefulness of the neighborhood is very appreciable.
The location is really great, we tried all the places suggested by Mark, and there were all great! Cafe Menotti has a great cortado, and the brown rice sushi place on Abbott is super yummy and healthy!
Mark is very welcoming yet very discret. He made us feel at home.
I would go back anytime, and recommend this place, for anyone who would like to stay in Venice Beach, and have a great and chill experience.
The cottage in Venice canals is a very unique place in a perfect, tranquil location. The sun streams in at the end of the day, hummingbirds and butterflies fly by and it is truly magical experience. Mark is the perfect host, he lives nearby and was available for any questions we had but was never intrusive. We made use of his bikes and boat with of which were great fun. I stayed with 2 small children and they loved the freedom to run around and play in the cute and safe front garden. I would choose this place again and again on a trip to LA.
My daughter and I felt welcomed even before we arrived as our Host, Mark, kept in touch concerning our arrival and called to make sure we arrived, found everything satisfactory once inside the cottage. He has a very helpful and informative folder with details where to dine, buy groceries, find Farmer's Markets and Urgent Care Facilities, and interesting historical facts about The Venice Canals America. Great stuff to get yourself oriented right away.
We loved that his house included cruiser bikes and Canoe. We cycled all over Venice and the beach, excellent way to appreciate all the charming bungalows and architecture of old California. The cottage had a well equipped kitchen for the foodie who loves to cook. Alas, our stay was too short so we never had the opportunity to prepare a meal and dine outside enjoying the view of the Canal. However we did canoe thru the Canal as well as exploring on foot. I'm definitely planning on returning to stay every time I come to the LA, if it's not already booked!
